Mission: Season 2; Mission 2: It's Only Fun Until Someone Gets Hurt
Location: Mess Hall

Ayasha was in the mess hall. In her Fleet issue scrubs, she had a large pile of food in front of her. Working on a second of four pieces of rye toast and a corned beef omelette, she had also had juice and coffee in front of her.

The mission had unhinged her a little and she was getting back to normal with a punishing work-out before her shift. She looked up to see someone in front of her.

It was Emily Quartermaine.

She got up and embraced the other woman after she put her tray down. Letting go, she turned a little red. "Sorry, I know you from the stories dad told me, and how long it took you to find me. I am grateful."

Emily was slightly distracted with everything that had been going on over the last few days and then the sudden and abrupt twist of fate when the senate themselves attempted to kill several of the ship's company amongst everything else going on;

To say that it was all mind boggling was to put it in a very interesting manner to say the least.

As such Emily was surprised to find that someone suddenly *HUGGING* her out of the blue and she thought it was someone that she knew but it was a face that looked somewhat familiar who then apologized before explaining why she did just that which made the Brit born Canadian's eyebrows raise slightly. "Um, no problem kiddo but you mite need to forgive me if I ask whose you're da?" she asked respectfully, her tiredness evident in her voice as her natural accent came out a little bit more strongly than usual.

Ayasha replied, with a slight embarassment at the impromptu hug. She wasn't in the habit of mashing her goodies against psuedo strangers. "Aidan Thornton. He said you spent so much effort trying to find me, and to be honest, you look like you need a hug." She said smiling at Emily.

When Emily heard that name, her dark eyes widened and faster then anyone could possibly blink, pulled the other girl in for another hug before releasing her. "Sorry about that, Ayasha. It's been a rough past few days with all of the shenaggins and whats its going on around here, plus having that Scottie bloke just popping in and out like he owns subspace kind of makes one a wee bit jumpy." she explained while sounding a bit embarassed. "But yeah, I need the hug so thank you. What are you up to kiddo and have you have talked to your da yet?"

"No one would blame you for popping him in the mouth if he comes in unannounced." She said with a slight mischevious grin. "Dad and I talked. He'd been helping me set things up with armor and such. My mom has been struggling. It's going to be a little odd not having her ear all the time like I am used to." Ayasha said.

Emily had to laugh at that, "Yeah but if I go and do that, I might get a stern talking too because I'm one of the most deadliest women on this ship." she replied with a sly smile before taking a drink from her cup. "As for you and your da talking, that's always a good thing and I'm sorry to hear bout your mum, but at least they both got out of Sol alright."

Emily's face then turned a little bit serious for a moment as a thought crossed her mind but then she slowly shook her head to clear it.

"I said pop him in the mouth not filet him for the grill. A little manner reminder is all." Ayasha took the remaining toast and omelette and made a sandwich. "I hate to eat and run, but I duty calls. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. What you did was selfless and caring. I like that in my friends."

Emily smiled and nodded, "Despite everything that's happened and may or may not happen, Ayasha, I do love your dad and I come from a family that's kept me in their hearts even centuries after my supposed death." the former intelligence officer said before reaching over and gently squeezing the younger woman's right forearm reassuringly. "But it's good to have friends either way, just take care of yourself and no overworking, alright?"

"That goes the same for you. This place can get crazy and take care of yourself has to occasionally take point. Speaking of taking point, I'll be late coming back from lunch. Have a good day Emily." Ayasha offered.

Emily couldn't help but smile as she nodded, "Alrighty then. Be safe out there, Ayasha." Emily offered up as she watched the younger woman head off for her day as she tucked into her own breakfast, happy in the fact that she had made a friend in the mess that was her life as of late and that only made her smile grow bigger.
