Mission: Season 2: Mission 1: Day after Day
Location: Mining town-Command center
Timeline: Oct 17, 4566 late morning

Aidan sent a Marine escort to find and bring Azazel to the shuttle.

Azazel was sitting up on a rock mound cleaning his blades and sitting there with a smile on his face. Jamming out to music, with his earbuds in his ears.

Two Marines in light power armor found him. "Sir. Colonel Thornton has requested you see him in the Shuttle. Will you come with us?" One of the Marines asked.

Azazel hadn’t noticed them and couldn’t hear with the earbuds in his ears. So continued.

One of the guards tapped him on the shoulder.

Azazel was surprised and swung his blade at him and stopped at the soldiers neck. He took out his earbuds, “Oh! Terribly sorry, you startled me.” He said smiling bringing his blades back into his sheathes. “Did you require me for anything?”

The other guard in reflex aimed his carbine at the man. "Next time, maybe you should be more aware of your surroundings." He lowered the carbine but didn't put it away. "Colonel Thornton wants to see you. Please resist this request, so I can drag you there.." The guard said honestly, the helmet not showing any emotion.(edited)

“I don’t like being dragged... so I think I’ll go willingly, however.” He said standing up and hoping off the mound. “You get to hit me once.” He said extending his arms out smiling. “If not then I’ll be making my way there.”(edited)

"Not impressed." the speaker said electronically through the helmet. "This way"  One led, the other followed at a short distance. Soon they arrived in the hardened shelter that had been set up.  "Ah. Mister Dee. Have a seat. Can't I get you anything?"  He appeared deep in thought, then verbally dismissed the Marine guards.
Lt. Rembrant was nearby, glaring at him from the corner.

“Can I get two number 9’s... a number 9 extra large...” He said chuckling, “No, no, a glass of water is all I require.” He said simply smiling, then taking his seat. “Quite a marine I meet, wanted to drag me here.” He said nonchalantly smiling.

"I saw that. Their body cameras tell a slightly different story. What if that had been a miner's child?" He asked, retrieving the water from the replicator.(edited)

“Well, I didn’t cut his head off, I always stop before contact with flesh. Plus, it’s reflex at this point.” He said unfazed by the events. “It wouldn’t be the end of the world if I was dragged but I would prefer to stay in control of my life.” He said smiling looking down at the floor.
“Anyhow, you requested me for something? I’m sure whatever it is it’s going to be important.” He said smiling looking back up.

"I would prefer you be in control of your weapons. There won't be a next time. Am I making myself clear? May I?" Aidan said, holding out a hand for one of the scimitars."

“If you want them take them, I can always forge a new set.” He said smiling, giving them over to him.

Aidan held the pair, testing the weight and balance. "Any time you want to be less of a dick, we can get started." He made a few moves and strokes. It would be  apparent to Azazel that he was a master swordsman as well. He flipped the blades back around, holding them out handle first in a proper manner to Azazel.

Azazel took them back and asked, “Ever heald Bronze? It’s heavy. Not a good metal, but definitely worthy of being a weapon.” He asked smiling then putting them back at his sides.

“To answer your question, I’m old. Most of the things I use to care about are long dead.” He said smiling.(edited)

"You are the only person to have loved and lost. I gather that I can't hold a candle to the sheer numbers you've seen. But I've lost thousands of comrades in arms. Friends, lovers, family. You certainly aren't the only wounded soul in humanity. Especially with Earth now a barren rock. If you don't care about anything,  why should we trust you?" Aidan asked.(edited)

“The fact that I haven’t attacked anyone out of sheer spite is one.” He said smiling. “In the whole grand spew of everything, You cannot trust anyone. At least that’s how I see it. I put faith into people. In return for ya’ll saving me from that ice box. I essentially don’t ask many questions when given a job. No matter how dirty.” He again said upbeat.
“Weather I get along with many is not of my concern. My task is my task. I will do my task because it’s a purpose.” He stated.

"I trust my Marines with my life as they trust me with theirs. Something you should be used to having served with the Waffen SS. What you won't do for King and country, you'll do for each other. I get it you were a conscript. Not much choice there. I'm also no stranger to  wet work. You'll take orders for those that outrank you, you should be used to that."
Remi offered, "That would be a good start." Aidan shot her a look. "At ease Lieutenant." Sumire assumed the position with a practiced flair. Her face said something else.(edited)

“If you mean outranked, you mean by... nevermind, from what you’ve already said, there’s no need to explain myself. You seem to have my history here on lock down.” He said smiling, “So please tell me, is my time serving as a Nazi the only concern? Or is that about it?” He then looked at Remi for a second then back at Aiden.

Azazel smiles as he took a sip from the water then sat there quietly. His smile now seeming the tad most artificial. Though it was extremely hard to tell.

"If you display any of the bad habits that got the Nazi's executed in Nuremberg, I'll drag you to the brig myself." Aidan paused. "In order that we don't have any more mistakes like the debacle yesterday, you will have a very short week or two on the ship with my personal trainer. Assuming you don't want to become a civilian, in which case, we can arrange transport to somewhere else and you are no longer my problem. Think about it and get back to me. Questions? Comments? Concerns? Emotional outbursts?"(edited)

“I’m being sent to camp, I need my dog. The last ‘family’ I have left and she’s trained to be a war hound. So I would like to keep her. And yes, she’s housebroken.” He said smiling. “Also, wasnt much of a Nazi anyway. I just killed people for them. Didn’t sign up for their cult.”(edited)

"Good. Your pet can stay in your quarters with you. You aren't going anywhere. Camp happens on ship. You'll sleep in your own quarters. Your time will be your own, off duty. If you need someone to walk her if training runs long, I'll do it. Once I meet her and we come to terms. I've raised them since I was a boy" Aidan offered.

“Fair warning, she’s a big puppy, and she’s a jumper. Watch out for the paws.” He said chuckling. “Well, was there anything else you needed from me sir?” He said smiling.

"I think that's the first time I've seen you display genuine emotion."Aidan said. "You should do that more, but no, that's all. Maybe your dog can me the twins some day soon. Half German shepherd, half Rottweiler. There are only about 5 months old, but big  already."

Kyle stood up drinking the rest of his water. “Perfect. Then I’ll be on my way back to my duties again?” He asked smiling.

Kyle then grabbed his duffel bag and waited there to be dismissed.

"Actually, no. You're relieved of duty until such a time Dale and I are satisified you know OUR ways and not what you are used to. Consider it a couple days leave. Rest up. Dale is tough." Aidan said, smiling for the first time.

“Whatever shit you throw at me. I’ll just return to sender, a battle to the end and I will never surrender.” He said smiling then walking out.

"oh and get your com situation straightened out." Aidan yelled.

Kyle gave a thumbs up as he walked further away.
