Reunion

Mission: Season 2: Mission 1: Day after Day
Location: Shuttle
Timeline: After mission

Seraphina walked into the lounge after her talk with Remi, seeing the pair she was looking for, rather relaxed. She pointed to Chandra before whispering just loud enough to be heard, "Hey, I want to talk to you. Got a minute?"

Chandra set Azazel carefully down on the couch as she got up and walked over to her and whispered, “Yes?“ She seemed surprised as she held her hands behind her back.

"Can we talk somewhere private? It's important.", Sera replied quietly as she gestured towards a separate room. 

Chandra nodded as she stepped into the other room after whispering, “Of corse.” With a smile.

After they were in the next room, and made sure they would not be disturbed, Sera turned back to Chandra.

"Um, I don't know if you know me, or not, but has your father said anything about me? Anything at all?", the angel asked as she nervously wrung her hands.

Chandra nodded her head slightl, “Oui, he has, he had spoken to me about a woman who he loved dearly about. One with wings of an angel and the heart of a lion. Though other than that he kept mostly to himself, I think he’s paranoid of revealing his true self. So buried all of his feelings. However when it comes to you, that’s all he spoke of.” She informed her with a slightly curious tone.

Sera gave a small smile at that, "I wish I did still have my wings. But, yes Kyle was always a good son. One I loved and he loved back. I thought for the longest time I was alone, until he came into my life. The day I adopted him, is a day I'll never forget. And the fact that he has a loving daughter, brings me great joy."

She gave a slight pause to calm herself, "So hello my granddaughter, it is a joy to meet you."

She smiles at Seraphina and hugged her, “One thing you should know is that you only have granddaughers.” She said giggling, “Father has only bared girls, he has yet to have told me about any boys he has had.” She said basically making fun of him to not have any sons.

"Believe or not, I knew him when he was just beginning as a man. He was so shy back then. It's strange to see him so bold and brave now.", Sera said nostalgicly as she hugged back.

Chandra asked, “Father... shy?“ she said as if that was absurd. “He has never been shy... or shown emotion until today.”

"Honey I knew him when he was only 20. He was a very much different person then. Before he is know, I loved him when he was mortal as us."

Chandra didn’t quite understand the situation, “He’s not mortal? But...” she just was getting a headache, “Grandmother, what do you mean, please.” She asked.

"Kyle is thousands of years old honey, and from what I understand is he's been through a lot since when I cared for him as a young man. When he had emotions as a normal part of who he was. I was carried to this place from that time period. In a simple way of saying it. He got here on the long way round. With something having changed him. I don't know what, and I want to help him.", Sera said trying to keep her calm.

“If there’s anyone he’ll listen to it’s the one who raised him. I doubt he’ll listen to me. Though he seems to do that far better than with that Femi individual. Case being that if you want to help, you have to break him open Grandmother. Is there anything you have or anyone you know who could also break him, such as a first wife or lover? Or some object with sentimen?” Chandra asked trying to figure this out.

"I don't know anyone like that. As for objects....I have my necklace he gave me. It was a locket like the one he wore at all times. I don't know if that would be enough though."

Chandra stood there trying to figure everything out.

"I really want to help and I don't know how. So many things I want to ask him, so many things I want to make right. Something happened to my boy and changed him, but I don't know what. I'm so lost.", the angel said so sadly, a tear running errant from her eye.

“Grandmother... as annoying as it sounds. He is open to talk to anyone, it’s just a matterof them not taking it out. He loves you I know it. She said hugging her tail hatder.

"I know he does, and I know he loves you too. Just as I do, and I will admit it's sad I couldn't have been there to see you grow up to the woman before me.", Sera said returning the hug, "I want to catch up with you, and learn about this amazing granddaughter he's given me."

Chandra has getting a bit misty, “My name is Chandra Dee... My mother was Charlotte Frankford. We lived in an empire for our entire lives, I rarely saw Father. He was always busy. So I cooked because it helped pass the time. Eventually I joined the military and cooked there.” 

"What was the empire you grew up in? There is so much I have yet to learn about you."

“The Imperial Empire, I... wish not to say more...” she said remembering too much from her past.

"I was once forced to be a citizen of an empire myself. My people went to war for.stupid reasons and lost. Even after they grudgingly became allies, the persecution didn't end. What was once an empire became no more then a state of the one that conquered it. Your people called us angels.", Sera gave a bit on her history, "During those years of war, I became the last of my blood line. Kyle and you, are my only family."

Chandra just stared at her as she explained, unsure what to say other than to just feel awkward being in such a predicament. “Oh... so you have no children?” She asked curious.

"I never had a lover until recently, even then, it's not exactly a relationship I can expect children from. I had always hoped to have some, but I could never find a way to realize it. Then I met Kyle and I took him in, and I was so happy. We weren't living in a nice, or a pleasant planet. But it was a good life. When I was pulled here with the others, I almost thought I'd never see him again."

“You call father Kyle, but his name is Azazel... why?” She asked curious on why they keep calling him Kyle.

"His name was Kyle Dee before it was ever Azazel. I don't know when he changed it, but that is his original name.", Sera explained.

“Ah, that would explain...” She said thinking. “Well it’s nice to meet you grandmother! Was there anything else that you wanted to talk about?” She asked, “Oh oh wait, what did my father act like before I knew him?” 

"Shy and frightful. Mark trained him on how to pilot a mech, back when he was with Ceilia. I was very proud the day he graduated. He may not have been born under the Cerulius bloodline, but I couldn't ask for a better son. And it's nice to see that continue with his children.", Sera said finishing with a hug.

Chandra accepted the hug and returned with her own. Happy that she knew more about her father and now her grandmother not too much older than her. "Thank you. I think I should get back and make sure he's not getting into trouble." She said letting go and giving a little wave as she went back to sit next to Azazel. Gazing at him with thoughts running through her head.
