Mission:
Season 2; Mission 2: It's Only Fun Until Someone Gets Hurt
Location: gym
Timeline: TNU
Jack was in the gym today, wailing away at the bag before him suspended on a chain. The sounds of fists against sand filled bag thundered in the large open room. His knuckles were already sore, but he just wanted to let off some steam, a activity he desperately needed with everything going on.
All manner of exercise equipment was present, even a sword fighting ring. In all honesty it was more of a dojo then a gym, as it's focus was more towards those of martial training. It was also open to anyone, so random visitors, and walk ins were not uncommon, or unexpected.
Leon strided quickly through the halls, being drawn by the sound of fist meeting punching bag. After being shown around by Aidan, this was much easier to find. He stepped in quickly, doing his stretches before also starting to exercise.
Jack continued to strike the bag before pausing as he realized he wasn't alone anymore. Placing a hand up to bring the bag to halt he spoke, "Oh hello prince Leon, for what do I owe such a wonderful visit my friend?"
Leon looked up, smiling at Jack before walking over. "For no reason at all, sir Jack. I just came to stretch my limbs and catch up my routines." He tilted his head. "Or perhaps, you could help me?"
"I would love to, if you don't mind the company. What may I assit you with? Do you need someone to spot with for weight lifting, or more of a sparring opponent?", Jack asked curiously at the proposal. He couldn't remember the last time he had sparred with anyone other then his daughter Neera, or his mother Sarah. Both were skilled, but not quite up to his level, even if they were improving.
Leon cracked his knuckles. "Most definitely the latter, it has been some time since I fought... someone up to my skill." Leon's smile became a smirk, now within feet of him. "Where would a spar be held? Is there one, even?" He crossed his arms and tilted back slightly.
Jack pointed a finger to a ring painted around a matt covered portion of the floor. "That is the sparring ring. As usual, it's either until one cedes the fight, or one combatant is knocked to outside the ring. I like to pride myself a bit on my skill at hand to hand. Shall we?", Jack asked with his own smirk, finding the ethusaism of his opponent welcoming. He stepped over to the ring and took his place.
Leon wasted no time, walking over and laughing. He dropped into a fighting posture and stared into the other's eyes. "I've always been more proficient with swordfighting, but I'd say I can hold my own in hand-to-hand combat." Leon breathes softly, keeping himself calm.
"Be aware my style of fighting will probably much different to yours. Honor also is considered liekwise in a different light where I come from. An adjustment you will have to get used to sadly. Here war isn't about honor, but survival.", Jack admitted before swinging a punch.
Leon easily dodged Jack's attack, his slow reaction timing spared by Jack tripping up on his own feet. Leon turned, spinning and shooting a fist out, attempting to punch at Jack!
It was Jack's turn to easily dodge as he caught his balance and ducked the swing, before trying to return with a upper cut.
Leon caught himself quickly, dodging Jack's attack with incredible speed for his size, attempting to punch him again, not going for fancy footwork this time.
Jack took the fist in a dead on hit to the side of his face, causing the white haired man to stumble back. "Good, this will be a satisfying fight." He steps back forward quickly to swing a kick.
Leon rolled quickly out of the way, standing up behind Jack and throwing another punch.
Jack swung back a elbow to block, meeting his punch dead on, causing him to stagger a step away again. "I'm not out yet. This is getting to good to quite now friend.", Jack said before trying for another kick.
Leon easily turned, smirking. "Looks like you're too slow for your own good, old man. Perhaps it's good that you chose to spar with me, I think it's just the right set of training that you need.* He laughed, spinning quickly and attemping to kick him in the back.
Jack rolled under it before popping back up for his own kick, sweeping low. "That's Lord old man to you."
Leon quickly hopped up over Jack's kick, landing safely attempting to hit him again, feinting left and throwing his right fist.
It was a trick he was familiar with, and still managed to duck under, even if only barely. It was a close one, as his opponent was no slouch. He opted to stand fully again, swinging a upper cut again as he did.
Leon thought he had the upper hand, moving to dodge but stepped right into the next swing, getting caught in the lower jaw which caused him to stumble backwards a step or two. "You're right, this is exciting... This is not over!" He attempted another spin kick, aiming for his lower back.
Jack gave a grin as he jumped over the leg with a roll, following with yet another upper cut. "Still spry, and not quite old yet friend!"
Leon caught his fist, gritting his teeth and spinning around him, attempting to upper cut Jack again. "Take THIS!"
It was his turn to take a mighty blow to the jaw, one that dislocated it slightly, and caused the man to stumble back several steps. With a grunt, he reset it, "One hell of a swing. Remind me never to anger you.", He chuckled before leaping forward with a kick, his face rather soar now and bruised.
Leon barely dodged the kick, rolling out of the way and attempting to get the first round over with by forcing him out of the ring, putting all of his force into a dive kick. "Hyyyyah!"
Jack wasn't fast enough to dodge, or even block as the kick forcefully shunted him straight out of the ring and onto his back with a grunt. He lay still for a brief moment before giving a weasy chuckle. "First round is yours friend. It's good to have my hide thoroughly beaten for once. Round two?", He asked as he sat up.
Leon cracked his neck, stretching, and dropping into another defensive pose. "I suppose we can do a round two. Best of three?" He asked, motioning for Jack to take the first punch.
Jack chuckled again as he rocked back then laept forward back onto his feet. He brushed himsef off and stepped back into the ring. With a grin he he swung a fist for a dead on strike if he connected.
Leon was caught unaware, as if something caught his eye. He was hit, if only barely, causing him to take a step back and shaking his head. "Lucky blow!" Before charging back at him and returning the favor, attempting a swift punch to the center of his torso.
Jack ducked the blow with a upper cut now rising for a shot to the jaw.
Leon did a handflip into a roll, expertly dodging the attack before popping back up and sending a swift kick back at you.
Jack ducked the kick and aimed a jab for the man's thigh, "Nice try!"
Leon, surprised at missing his attack after the display of superiority, was slow to react when he realized Jack was striking back. He did a slow spin, throwing another uppercut at the older man.
Jack leaned away letting the uppercut pass by his face as he aimed a knee at the man's thigh.
Leon took the brunt of the knee, bracing himself. He did a quick spin kick aimed at the man's face.
Jack found himself slid on the mat in a circle and back, the leg giving a sudden cough. He then grabbed at the leg to punch the man in the thigh, seeming like the easiest target.
Leon once again forced himself to take the hit, bracing for it and gritting his teeth. "Damn that hurts!" He grinned and leaned in, letting out a quick jab at the man's face.
Jack grabbed the fist in his hand, a jarring impact he felt in his wrist and elbow. This elicited another grunt as he halted it with a measure of pain, and moved for a head butt.
Leon smirked, almost seeing Jack's face move in slow motion as he moved out of the way and taking a step back, letting out a swift spin kick to the other's head, hoping to end this quickly before Jack got the upper hand.
He took the hit as he tried to move, but was just too late as the kick knocked him to the mat. His vision blurred slightly, and his head was feeling a killer headache, but he wasn't finished. He moved to ram Leon's leg from his now kneeling position.
Leon was caught off guard, focused more on fact his attack hit, thinking it was won. He was now knocked to the ground and he let out a grunt of anger, attemping to stand, spinning to attempt to hit Jack with a kick on the way back up.
Jack rolled out of the way just missed by the kick before coming back to a crouch. "Gonna have to try my harder.", He said as he leapt at Leon to tackle him.
Leon rolled out of the way again, watching Jack as he flew over him, standing quickly and trying to hit him, letting loose a vertical kick attempting to bring it down to hit him in the back.
He rolled yet again, before retrying the same tactic as before with a tackle.
Leon once again dodged out of the way, expecting it this time as he lashed back out with another kick, wanting to force him out of the fight.
Jack was summarily kicked from the ring yet again. The kick coming as he was just rising from his blunder. Soon however finding himself and his chin sliding across the floor outside the ring. "Good match. Good match. Oh I'm going to be feeling it in the morning.", Jack groaned as he suggishly picked himself up off the floor. He pressed on his back, the bones uttering a crack as he righted it. "By the way, who are you calling old man. I'm 22 I will have you know.", He said with a grin.
Leon smirked, walking out and helping up his sparring partner so he wouldn't have to walk alone. "Twenty-two, but slower and weaker than the nineteen year old." Leon let out a quick laugh, wrapping one of Jack's arms around his (Leon's) shoulders. "We're gonna head to the medical room, neither of us should just sit on our asses with these wounds, okay?"
"Not one to normally argue, but then again I don't normally have the luxury of doing so. I've had much worse, much worse. You haven't seen the scars I carry from years of war. I've been a soldier since the age of 16, and endured much. My stubborness as kept me alive thus far.", Jack said with a chuckle, "But I suppose you're right. Hate to scare the others off with these bruised faces of ours."
Leon laughed heartily. "Good, thank you for not fighting me on this one. Would hate for you to be destroyed by me again." He started to carefully walk him towards the medical ward. "Perhaps next time we could spar with real weapons (training swords, but Leon always used real weapons so he assumes that's what you use), I could show you how a real man fights."
"Not gonna lie, my swordsmanship could use some work. Used to fighting with blades of energy, which have no weight. First time I tried to use the metal sword that was gifted to me,..well I looked like quite the fool.", Jack said grinnig passed bruises.
"Then it is a challenge then, perhaps I'll /let/ you get a hit or two in." He smirked and laughed, quickly finding themselves in the medical room.
"Yeah that would be great, man I hope the doctor has some strong stuff.", Jack said rubbing his neck from the soarness.
