Preparing For the Trek

Mission: Season 2: Mission 1: Day after Day
Location: DFS Lavie - Conference Room
Timeline: October 11th 4566 - 0800

After the ship returned to the Lavie and final preparations were completed it was now the 11th and command had gotten around to giving the crew their orders finally. Yuka had asked Remi to join her in coordinating the meeting. Remi finally felt like she was doing something; if that was from her actually making friends or accomplishing some things and being asked to help more she didn't know; maybe it was both... 







Yuka had called representatives from each department to the room including Drass, Jack, Flan, Sarissa, Sashi, Scott and Andrew to the briefing room. She had already discussed things with Erin and would leave her to telling Aidan her thoughts and such on the matter when time allowed. 







Yuka had the conference room set up by the time Remi arrived. She had already informed the girl about things via VX before she arrived so the two just waited until people arrived.







(Morning of the 11th)











Andrew walked into the room, his hands in the pockets of his pants with his pistol in storage mode on his right hip as he entered the room and sat down, his expression quiet and thoughtful.











Remi through her VX called Gainz to see if he wanted to attend this meeting and if he could provide insight on Naomi and the Aloris Alliance as she was unaware that Gainz did not know anything about the EU member Naomi or her empire.











Scott sees the vx message and heads to the meeting with ceci











Sarissa came into the room. She made the normal greeting and sat down with a red leaf tea.











Jack entered the room and stood by the wall.







after some time, seemingly forgotten to message back flan enters the meeting, her hair deshevelled with bed head











Scott enter the room and sees sarissa already there and drinking something....he almost makes a cup of koto coffee though he resists the urge considering he didn't need to be shot by yuka... yet(edited)











Having recieved the VX, Drass lumbered down the corridor to the briefing room and ducked through the door. He quietly moved a chair and took a seat on the floor, putting him at eye level with the rest of the group and removing the embarrassment of having another chair break under his substantial mass.











“Hey drass I heard from Aidan you may need a new toy is that true?” Scott asks.

Seleni joins the others quietly, not making much noise as she picks a seat and sits down.















Drass nodded, "Yeah, the standard issue side arms don't fit my hands."







“We will talk later” Scott said. 







Ceci sits in a chair resisting the urge to make a comment. People seeing a small child walk into a conference room probably confused people but such was life. 







As everyone had entered Remi made eye contact with Flan briefly then she began to speak. “Welcome everyone. We should go around the room and introduce ourselves as some of you have not met each other… Most of you have but some have not and considering the fact that most of you are now senior officers on the ship it would be great for you to know each other.” Yuka then spoke. “I’ll start even though all of you know me… I’m Yuka Layton; Trinity’s Commanding Officer.” Remi then speaks. “I’m Sumire Rembrant; the Trinity Political Services Liaison… Think of me as the person who handles back-door political deals and such things… I don’t usually use rank for the most-part so everyone can just call me Remi.” Yuka was dressed in a command uniform and Remi a black information security uniform.







“Scott Johnson Head of R&D...or whatever they call it now....I tend to make things to help make enemies die”(edited)











Sarissa waited for a natural pause and in an even tone, spoke clearly so everyone would hear. "I am Doctor Sarissa Slane. Chief Medical Officer. I prefer Doctor or Sarissa. If I need to explain my job, I weep for the future." She said, getting in an uncharacteristic barb.











"Major Drass Kebron," Drass said when it was his turn, "CO of the Marine detachment."(edited)











Andrew raised his metal hand up, "Major Andrew Weaver,  Chief of Trinity Security and Tactical as well as a couple of other hats. " he said respectfully.











"Lt. Commander, Jack Pine. Commander of SABER forces, Director of Section 6. Call me Jack.", He said.











"Lt. Commander Selaniphi J. Kiirmant, Chief Flight Control Officer of the Lavie and Acting Commanding Officer of the Murasashi." Seleni says.







"hello here.." flan waves at Remi is a little smile appearing on her face "Flennel Lanreth.. Engineer"











"Good; so everyone is introduced... This meeting is regarding our next mission" Remi continued. "Questions before we go over this?" Yuka asked.











“Can we gas the bug swarms with aerosol koto brand coffee?” Scott asked.











"... You realize liquid freezes in space..." Remi replied to Scott curtly.







Sarissa spoke up. "No questions from Medical"







Drass shook his head, "No, ma'am."







"None here, either." Seleni says.











Jack only nodded, "no questions ma'am."







"you wanna baptize the earth in ice..?" she said amused by Scott's quip(edited)











Yuka nods. "Alright then... We have been asked by fleet command to gather up the Federation's allies in an attempt to get a fleet together to combat the Swarm. Currently the bugs have invaded... basically... an entire sector of space." Yuka refers to a map of space which marked Federation territories superimposed with a striped zone which was covered in bugs.  Remi shook her head at Scott and Flan then said after Yuka finished. "I get it you two wanna play but can we talk about turning everything into fire and ice after the mission briefing..."











"the one time I socialize-- anyways.. whats the mission?" Flan lamented. 











Sarissa stated the obvious. "To curtail or otherwise eliminate the threat from this infestation."











Andrew kept quiet for the time being, his arms crossed over his chest as he thought about the situation.











"Yes... So we have been ordered to get together the fleet I mentioned that command wants us to locate and negotiate the creation of; our first destination is the Aloris Alliance Capital. We will be going there to talk to Naomi Westbridge the leader of the Aloris Alliance and a member of the EU. It si simple and most of the time heading there will be free time; I suspect it is becuase Aidan and I keep complaining about us never getting leave..." Yuka said.











"Questions?" Yuka asked; she was sort of done; this briefing was so simple it actually hurt but that was because they were basically being sent as an envoy.hence the single ship.











"Should we bring any protection.. just in case?" Flan











"That is why a tactical ship like us is being sent..." Yuka replied. "Arisa... another reason no one would touch us..."Remi said honestly.



"No one is stupid enough to start a war with the EU..." Ceci said childishly still sitting as she spun in a chair.











"How many people will we have on the ground if any?"











She even know not to fight the god beings.







"alright-- that answer's all mine, last time I went on a mission with capable crew, all I had to defend myself was a pistol.. I just didn't want that again.."











"A team will be assigned to the mission based on who's skills match the conditions on the ground." Remi said.







"What's our ETA?" Drass asked.











Sarissa commented again. "There are no gates in the area, so it will have to travel time through conventional systems. Hence the three weeks estimate."











"Good will give me time to handle some in house stuff."







"Correct; while we can gate nearby it will still take a week in the gate to get there a week to get to the gate and a week out of the gate; basically its a long distance away..."



Remi replied.



"To reference its on the other end of the galaxy..." Yuka added.







Drass nodded.











"So we get around 2-3 weeks of downtime?" Seleni asks.







Yuka and remi nod







"is there any attire we need to wear, or should I just go in my mechanic get up...?"







Drass cringed inwardly at the idea of downtime. He'd had 2 millennia worth of downtime. What he wanted to do now was squish bugs.







"Probably standard uniforms unless it's a really formal shindig." Andrew said from his spot, still thinking about tactical simulations.











Remi sent everyone cultural data on the Aloris Alliance. It waas a more successful Federation basically with highly advanced medical tech and tactical tech; after all it was ran by the famed daughter of the UDC Commissioner Ryan Westbridge who helped create what would be Delta Force prior to Hukari's even being born.







"I have people more suited for urban ops."







Oh fun stuff for us if we play nice quite possibly







"What Scott and Jack just said... yeah... urban and better tech... any other questions?" Remi asked







"Not from me, but I will need to speak with the CO later at some point."







Wait wouldn't we have at least a bit of their tech in our database from the stalkers of the universe?







"yes, Attire...?"







"Standard; they wear the same clothes as we do due to Naomi's influence." Yuka replied to Flan and then Remi replied. "if you mean the Watchers; they actually ignore Naomi and her people out of fear of pissing Mith off; its the only place the watchers don't actively go..." She forwards him the report on the matter from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.







"alright.. all my questions are answered..." flan stands on, leaning against the wall she sat again

"Anything else?" Yuka asked.







Drass shook his head again, "No ma'am."







"Any research on the medical side might provide some insights on more effective countermeasures. Something other than a live bug, as we don't need that kind of attention." Sarissa replied.







"Good; something we can do down the line..." Yuka said nodding to Sarissa. "If there is nothing else dismissed."



She then said.







Sarissa got up waited for the small amount of traffic to die down so she could slip out.











Andrew gets up and looks at Yuka and Remi. "I'll start working on tactical outlines and see what the boys in the Alliance can pull together here."











The girls nodded. "Thanks Drew." Yuka said to him.











Andrew nodded before moving to head out.







Remi, Yuka and the others then head off to their respective departments.
