What Friends are For...

Mission: Season 2: Mission 1: Day after Day
Location: DFS Lavie - Seleni's Quarters
Timeline: October 12th 4566 Evening

Ari was in her office after they had finally left and was just about done for the day. She picked up her paperwork and left the ready room to go to her study. She left the bridge and headed there dropping off the documents as she goes into the shower that was there and cleans her self up and changes into a summer dress. She then goes back out and completes the few documents that were required following the shift. There was no nothing more for her to do as she stared at the cup of coffee in front of her.
she had a lot Happen over the past few days but that seems to be typical here. She leaned back in her chair closing her eyes thinking about the good moments.

Seleni lay on her bunk in her quarters, lazing about for now.

She thought about something and then Ari got up remembering something that she read she used the ships GPS locator to find where Seleni was. She headed to her quarters and pressed the call button.

Hearing someone basically at her door, Seleni gets up an throws on a tanktop and shorts before answering the door. "Oh, hi Ari."

“Good afternoon.” Ari said to her staring at her. “ how are you doing?”

"Good. Glad to have some actual rest." Seleni says as she steps aside to let Ari in.

Ari enters and the door automatically closes. “ and is that good in a physical sense or good in an emotional sense... and how is your new body treating you... this is more of a medical question but is everything working right in your body? You’ve been in it about a month...” she said taking a seat. She was showing concern for her wellbeing

"Other than a slight discomfort in my abdomen, everything seems to be good." Seleni responds sitting on the bed.

“ what do you attribute that to?”

"Either it's a cramp or probably ate something funny." Seleni says.

“I see...” Ari pulls out her necklace which has a blue gem on it. Water comes from it shining with a blue light and begins to surround Seleni’s lower abdomen the strange thing was is it was not causing wetness; it was emitting some kind of healing effect. The healing was reducing her pain.

Seleni sighs in relief and her face softens.

The water returns to the gem and Ari opens her eyes putting it away. She then speaks again. “Is there anything else that you’re dealing with; from what I read from the other girl this whole transitioning from one party to another can be quite unique… And honestly from all of our previous encounters you are just as much girl as you were before you were a ship... ... honestly you to that are like this I just pretty much consider you guys like Harper from Andromeda...” she said letting some of her nerdiness escape. “Just because you can be one with a computer and connect with everything and all that doesn’t mean you’re any less of a person. Just like back in my time people in rural bum fuck nowhere seem to somehow think that women were less than men but we are all the same just because I have boobs and this guy has a shaft; OK well I can still kick his ass and yeah I am maybe a tiny little baby maker but hey that doesn’t matter when my first meets his face...” she laughs.


Seleni laughs. "Alot of men think thats what girls are only good for until the tip of her high heels impacts his manhood."

“ or until like you kiss a guy and punch him in the gut at the same time... that’s actually pretty funny and then the asshole doubles over...”
“ I was a mean person in my previous life but that’s because the world hated me so I figured if everyone hates me I’ll just hate them more...”
“ enough about that though... I’m glad your adjusting well...” She moved closer to her and put an arm around her side.

"Thanks." Seleni says. Soon there after a hint of iron enters the air and Seleni feels her crotch becoming wet and slimey.(edited)

“So What is up with the whole two captains in the other you thing” Ari asked

"Oh. That. It's an old tradition amongst AI like me. Usually when the AI falls in love with a civilian or someone with no leadership experience, they're given the title of Honorary Captain and is allowed to move into the AI's personal quarters." Seleni says, fidgeting.


“ I see. So I know I’ve asked you before what are your intentions here; I mean like do you plan to stay?”

"I do. Maybe I can find a place where my services won't be needed."

“ or you could just help fly with us you know... make our world in your new home?”
“ I mean I’m not exactly a native here either...”

"Heh...Maybe. Maybe I'll go explore a new galaxy. Who knows?" Seleni says, fidgeting again as the smell of iron got slightly stronger.

“What’s the matter?” Ari asked.

"I-I....somethings leaking out." Seleni says, slightly panicking.

“Um... out of... wait... your? Um...?”

"I-I don't know w-why this is happening." Seleni says, her panic rising.

“I’ll—“ she calls medical and Ai is dispatched. When the PA/Paramedic arrives Ari stands out of the way wondering if she should leave. 

Ai scans her and immediately pulled something out of her medical bag. “ been along time since you were an actual body hasn’t... here... go get cleaned up and use this pad in your panties... we also have medications to treat this here; it will make it a lot less problematic and deal with all of the cramping and what not. We actually just giving injection now so if you’d like I can actually do that for you but since your body is so new we do recommend that you at least like this first cycle go... and if you intend on having babies... the joys of the female anatomy.” The physicians assistant said.

"T-thank you." Seleni says and goes to the bathroom to clean up and change.

The PA waits and continues to go over her scans.

Seleni, having finished cleaning up and changed comes out of the bathroom.


Ai finished reviewing her scans and then says “everything else is fine and like I said once this cycle is over I would recommend that you come by medical and get an injection... I mean unless you like cramping and bleeding all over the place.” Ari glared at Ai.


"Ok. Thanks." Seleni says and sits down on the bed again.


Ai leaves. Ari tilts her head still near the door. “ i’m sorry… I’m gunna go.” She goes for the door.


Seleni grabs her wrist. "Please don't.....I haven't had someone care about me like you did in a long time."


“... it’s like I said it with a friend is supposed to do… I mean if somebody isn’t like that and they really aren’t your friend… There’s a difference between a lunch buddy and somebody who is actually a friend. That’s also why where I came from I only had like three because people are just rude and then people say that they are your “friend“ but they are really just some acquaintance who wants to get at you.” Ari stopped going for the door.


"It's just that....bleeding like that...was frightening." Seleni says.


“ so you seriously didn’t remember... that happening before I mean that’s like something that happens to every girl... always... even if you’re on pills and stuff sometimes it still happens so it’s like you can’t really escape it... i’m just thankful I never want children so I just fill my body was a bunch of medications and it pretty much stops happening but that also means if I did want to go down that route I would have to stop taking that stuff for a while before my body was prepared enough to actually bear child plus I’m not in my ideal weight range for that and if you’re too skinny your body can’t have kids either...”(edited)


"It never happened back in my old body. Probably an injection done when i was a child or genetic modification." Seleni draws her knees close and hugs her legs. "But the bleeding......reminded me of a more.....unpleasant time."


“ so your body was made infertile from childhood... what the fuck what kind of government did you live in I almost want to walk into whatever the fuck place it was and beat their living ass... you don’t take a girls ability to have kids away until she doesn’t know if she wants them or not that’s her choice!” Ari seemed angry. “ seriously if we ever end up in the confederacy I want to beat some people into the ground... The fact they just made that choice for you before you could even make it... and then when you died they threw in a goddamn spaceship... grrr!” She did not seem to like the confederacy at all.
“ and… Was it the confederacy who… Your partner?”
Ari asked

"Kyra?..............You can say that." Seleni says quietly.

“... I won’t ever let them touch you again... they won’t hurt you or anyone else you care about ever again.” Her face look like stone.

"Thank you, Ari," Seleni whispers.

Ari held her close. “ you’re safe here... always remember that.”  She said as she rubbed her back.

Seleni leans into her and hugs her.

She holds her close into an embrace. 


Ari kisses Seleni

Seleni gently cups Ari's face as she kisses her.


As lead to hold each other close Ari moved them over to the bed deepening the kiss. Once she moves onto the bed she stares into Seleni’s eyes. Once the kiss ends she says “ remember you’re an important person to people and you should have all the same rights as everyone else… You are you and because of that you can’t be replaced there’s only one of you in the universe.” She nuzzles her.


As Ari nuzzles her, Seleni holds her close and tight.


Ari Continues to lay there with her and just stare at her.


"Thank you for helping me." Seleni says.


“ no problem; now rest.” Ari told her.
