Mission: Season 2: Mission 1: Day after Day
Location: City-Ship; Residential District - Marsia Academy
Timeline: October 13th 4566 Early Evening

The Fourteenth was near and everyone was ordered to dock with the onyx until needed to conserve the fleets limited resources. Now all the ships were docked to the Onyx and fighter and mecha patrols ensured fleet security. Since the Lavie was already so effective and efficent everything it neeeded done except fo rbuildting giant guns, mecha and various other fighting techs most everyone was given time to work on other things. Remi and Ari were at her house again when remi got a message from someone from the Federation Educational Foundation. She was to meet someone at a designated location on the city. An area that was zoned for a school. Ari decided to go with her and look around this stupid city some more. At least people here were not jackoffs; the alst city Ari was in she was treated like crap...

Meanwhile Kiyo had forcefully dragged Hikaru with her to stalk... or rather... covertly follow Ari around.
Being they wre on a city with its own detachment like Rigal literally all Hikaru and Kiyo did now was basically security.

Aside from being two of th emsot skilled pilots in the fleet.


Having retrieved her old clothes from her wardrobe from aboard the Murasashi, Seleni puts on her old gear and heads to a training range to actually get accustomed to a wider range of weapons and to explore the city afterwards.


She encounters Rem and Ari whom were out to locate this fun zoned plot of land.


Jack and Neera decide to walk the city, Sarah having decided to stay home to berate Isabelle on her matchmaker scheme she had tried to pull on Sarah. Kessler was working on his ship at the dock. Sera was at a local park just enjoying the day.
Jack: so I hear you have a new boyfriend.
Neera: who? Niklas? Yeah we started seeing each other. What about it?
Jack: I should meet him some time.
Neera: you will dad.


Seeing Rem and Ari, Seleni greets them as she walks up towards the pair.


The two also wave at her and bid for her to join them. They soon then arrive in front of a building that shouldn't be there... Or rather a network of buildings... Was this a campus... This was a field literally days prior. A girl was there staring up at the mass of buildings happy to see them. Remi tilted her head as she pulled out an updated GPS map. "Seriously... I'm gunna die..." Remi said lamenting something. Ari just observes without saying anything; the concept of a city annoyed her but she had ot be here so she would put up with it.


"Eh?" Seleni says confused. "Just how fast did they do this?"


Jack: So what did you all do for your first date?
Neera: we talked, flirted, watched a vintage film, had sushi Niklas made. The night before we spent the night together.
Jack: Wait what?!




kirin gets into his standard cloths that look some what close to the locals but is a little diffrent, kirin thinks to himself, 'i wonder what this town has to offer.'



"I think they make these buildings pre-fabricated..." The girl in front of the trio replied as she turns around. Remi put her head in her hands again. "This is the new Marsia Academy..."Yuki said. then remi replied "Kill me now..."
"Why Rem-Rem... I was sent all the way here to be safe... Me being safe is what you wanted right?" Yuki asks her  older adopted sister. Remi doesn't reply. Ari just shrugs. "So you know Sumire?" "of course I know Sumi...--" "Stop witht he nicknames please..." Remi replied. "I'm Yuki rembrant... Sumire's younger sister and as of now a new student at the Marsia Academy School... The Educational Foundation made a special exception and allowed me into the school... basically I skipped grades....... SO WE WONT JUST BE LIVING IN THE SAME DORM ANYMORE... WELL BE CLASSMATES!!!" Yuki said as she ran too and huggled Remi rubbing against her dramatically showing way too much affection to her defeated sister especially after shouting.
"This is why I am grateful I don't have siblings..." Ari said blankly.


Kessler decided he was done and headed into the city, walking through the residential district.


"Lucky you." Seleni says as she watches all this. "Both of my little brothers were like this."


Kessler eventually runs into the group as they are standing in front of a new school campus that was just completed.

Kessler: what's uh going on here?


"Too much affection.... Please get her off me..." remi said asking for help. Ari just takes a picture. "I rather think this is funny.... She has a death grip on you... eh sis..." Ari teased Remi since Remi always acts like Ari is her idol and like non related sister.(edited)


Kessler: your lucky to have a sister who loves you remi. My sister was very much like her.


"Lucky... No... this isn't luck its torture..." Remi replied. Yuki finally lets go. "Awh Sumi is still mad at Yuki..." Remi shakes her head. "Not mad... Just moved on... besides I'm finishing my classes online and work in the military..."  Just then an old man comes out of the building. "Hum... Actually Ms. rembrant once classes resume you will be here... With the fleet basing itself out of this city there is no excuse... and the city needed a school anyway... why not have one that was from earth relocate to here... This city did help save Earth after all..." "Kill me..." remi looks crushed. "This is definitely like one of your mangas ey Rem..." Ari teased again seemingly being fed by Remi's misfortune.


Kessler: believe me, you are. Family is everything, when there is nothing else. Treasure the time you have with her before it's gone.


"You sound like... some badass out of a comic strip or something..." Ari said to Kessler
Ari then minics a badass voice


"If I was badass she wouldn't have died."


"Always remember the ones you love; they will giv eyou power and let you defeat your enemies and save the galaxy...."
As ari was in the middle of her mocking she heard her respond and stopped
"Oh... shit... um..." She stops as it brings back Brandon to her mind.
She is depressed now.


Kessler: you hold onto her remi and don't let go.(edited)
Kessler goes to walk away.


Ari stops him.
"You don't get to just walk away after something like that..."


Seleni gently pokes Yuki. "So why are cadets on a ship like this?"


"They are not cadets... this is a civilian high school operated by the Federation Education Foundation." The old man inserted himself.
"It just so happens that some of our most elite students happen to be part of our alumi of this school"
"Lady Hukari herself went to marsia."


"I didn't......I got to watch in a crippled body for three weeks, helpless."


"A civilian installation on pretty much a military ship?" Seleni asks. "Isn't that asking for trouble?"


"Not at all... half of the shops and such are civlian or did you not realize that most of the Research and Development contractors on this city ship are civlians."


Kessler tries to walk away again, moving around Ari, a defeated slump to his posture.


Ari nodded. "he is right about that most of Scott's people are civlians."


"They might be, but they have a damned good reason for being here. But for all intents and purposes putting kids with pretty much no connection in the line of fire is a bit too much, don't you think?" Seleni asks. "I expected civilians contracted by the military to provide their services to be here but kids?"


kirin continue to walk around asking the locals, "were contractors might be for some side jobs or bountys might be around here"


Kessler heads back to his ship to sit in peace.



Ari stops him again by tackling him and glares at him. "Look... you like rem eh... STAY HERE; DONT JUST FUCKING WALK OFF! You know what pisses me off about people who just run away when the going gets tough... they have no fucking balls... Your life sucks.. boohoo... My ex-fiance is dead... my family gone... do you see me being emo like little miss commodore... grow up and be strong for the people you care about... be strong becuase they would NOT want you to be sad at their expense..."
Ari chastised Kessler


Kessler sighs as he stands there, the shorter woman grappled to him, "why do you even care?"


"Because we're friends and comrades." Seleni says to Kessler's question.


"Why do I care... why... your an airhead... I care about her... why the fuck would I give her a room in my house if I didn't... your welcome too if you don't be an idiot... and she just reiterated it..."


"We're friends, why would we stay together? We aren't in a relationship.", the man says trying to free an arm so he can light a cig.


"Er..." Ari looks over to Remi whom at hearing this, the teacher and her sister. Remi just shakes he rhead putting her hands in her pockets and walks the opposite way. "Like with everyone... just friends... Well I am gunna go play an mmo... this all is not worth it..." Remi then leaves. Ari looks more and more angry with each passing second. "Everybody's goddamn drama?!" Ari gets up. "Fine go... I hate people and this is why I never had any friends in the city I use to live in... everyone is all drama happy fucks... So not worth my time... I'd rather punch thier lights out...."
Ari has the station teleporters send her back to her house.
Yuki watches people dispersing "... Did I cause this?"
The teacher pats the small young girl on the head.


Kessler, "Its how she said she wanted things." He said lighting his cig up.


"No... This sort of thing jsut happens."
"She may have said she wanted a friend but there are different levels of friends."(edited)
The teacher tells kessler


Seleni sighs. "I should get going." she says as she readjusts the rectangular case she has slung over her shoulder and heads to the training area for soldiers.


"I don't know if you noticed, but I don't make friends well, and I don't entirely trust people. I'm not even sure why I bothered coming to this place. It's nothing but more people dying, and bitchen at you for having problems. I especially don't trust comrades.", Kessler said looking at the man neutraly.


"It seems like you as well as many othr of the child sollliders here were forced into bad hands... I would just say keep an open mind... This place is different than where you came from even if you don't feel like it is. You can still have fun, learn and live here... It is not all death and horror...History does repeat itself but it is the next generation whom defines us... In my case it is kids like you, Ms. Mizriki... the Rembrant sisters and so forth who will build the new world... War only lasts as long as people allow it to last."
The obviously history teacher replied.


"Maybe..........Time only tells."


"Exactly... Use some of that time to learn and live and interact with your peers... They often teach you more than you will ever learn on the battlefield or in a classroom."


Kessler chuckles humorlessly, "I have to trust them first."


"You trust that girl pretty well from the looks of your initial conversation..." he said referring to the display between remi him and Ari


"Ari? I barely know her. Remi,.....that one's complicated. She just wants to be friends, but the fool I am, Got attached. But she made it clear how things stood. So you can see my conundrum.", he said.


"From knowing her history and her files... Sumire is complicated... She hides from life because she feels like no one cares. Show her you care and build something there... Maybe you might be the lucky one who pulls her out of those damned games..." he laughs
"its because she feels like I am cared for more by her family... its not true though; shes always been more independent...  our parents knew that and so they assumed she didn't need them." Yuki explains


"if I thought I was better than her I wouldnt cook or clean for her!" Yuki said.


"I thought I had, but that didn't seem to be enough. And she isn't the only one hiding.", Kessler said before taking a drag then looking at yuki, "But you still keep showing the love of a sister, meanwhile she's blind to it. When our parents were killed, Ceilia and I were all we had. We didn't fight, didn't bicker, we were just happy to be alive and to have each other."


Yuki stares down at the ground and doesn't say anything. She was processing. The death of Remi's mother and her second adoptive mother was a big thing and it affected Remi deeply. Yuki still didn't understand how deeply as she was little when it happened.
"... I think the only place she can be herself right now is in games..." Yuki then paused "Or with Akane... but the rescue and evacuation teams still have no idea where she is... or if she even survived the attack... I fear Remi needs someone to fill that space or she will never escape..."


Kessler saw the conflict, "was Akane her girlfriend?"


"She enver actually said... it was ... I thought they were but they never confessed... they would kiss and... I know something more happened but both girls never spoke of it... maybe because I am her 14 year old sister but whatever on that note... They were in love... I know it..."


"But how do I get her to open up? so far she keeps me at a set distance."(edited)


"I dont..."


Kessler suddenly had a idea however, "Yuki, do you have a pad, or any device on you right now?"(edited)


She shrugs "Couldn't you just compose a message in VX?"


Kessler sighs, "I don't use one, or have her comm link data. I need to give her a SIM code."


"hum... ... lets get you a VC unit..."


After Kirin finished talking with the locals he found out that there are not anything he would be interested in so he keeps waking around until he finds something that does peak his interest


"I have a Geist."


On her way to the training area, Seleni sees Kirin and greets him.


"It's similar, I can even do VR with it without VR gear. But because it's not a VX, I need a user's comm data to call, or message them.", Kessler explained.


kirin spots seleni and greets back and asks, " were might you be heading off to? is there anyone else you are meeting up with or are you going alone."


"She doesnt need... eh.. I'm not goign to explain technology..." Yuki turns around headking back into the school building.


Kessler throws his hands in the air, "So much for helping! Fuck my life!"


"I was going to go train on rifles and other weapons. Being confined to merely pistols is rather restrictive. Do you want to join me?" Seleni asks.


Kessler heads back to the ship, maybe to load a gun, maybe find a drink, or Hell maybe just resign and live quietly on his ship. At least he still had a home.(edited)



kirin replys, "sure i am more and willing to learn how some of the other weapons works around here cant always stick to a sword or a short range weapons. which types of weapons are you particular in improving in?"
