Mission: Season 2; Mission 3: We All Know What to Do; Let’s Not Do That…
Location: Cityship - Central Medical Wing; Military Section
Timeline: October 29th 4566 - Afternoon

[This occurred after The Arrival of Madness  Cannonically]



Sumire and the others had arrived back on the cityship. Hikaru freezing himself reminded her of Flennel; which was still a sore spot for her. She headed back to the lounge wanting to hide in a bottle. She ordered a bottle and left with it heading to her office to do the post mission paperwork.







Lilly and Hikaru were taken to medical; she for the injuries she still needed fixed and Hikaru for evaluation by the medical staff. Ai and Tessa were there. tessa; whom had studied gems in addition to her other work for Mith was interested in how Hikaru was so messed up by the atmosphere of Alister IV and how he somehow interacted with the ice property of the universe; which is where the gems came from... to say it was bizarre was an understatement. She knew what being tormented int he name of science was like though so she kept the thorught to herself but still did her research along with Ai. "Lt. if you have the ability to unfreeze yourself now would be a good time; we can't evaluate you through ice..." Ai said to him as tessa shrugged "speak for yourself... I can evaluate him in any method of madness... sure him not being a popsicle would help but... its his choice... Why did the General send him here anyway?" Tessa asked as marines were guarding the door in the case that he was still under contorl of the bugs.



A nurse was treating Lilly as her injuries were easy enough to handle.



 



Aidan appeared from around the corner. "Because he needs to be treated.....or shot. I would be prefer treated until we know he's not going to be controlled by anything."







 



Jack entered as well, "Will we be keeping him under guard until we can be sure?"



 



 



Aidan continued. "If it makes you feel better I can have someone standby in case he bugs out."(edited)



 







"... controlled... i see..." Ai said as she begins doing a brain scan.



 



"If he bugs out and tries to kill her again, or even one of us, I will put him down with prejudice.", Jack said with a hint of anger.



 



 



"It sure seems as if we was shooting at us....if he aim is that bad, he is in the wrong profession."



 



(medical or tactical operations would do that; though since there is no reintegration center here medical would isntall the VX so yeah leon should go to medical)



 



Aidan turned to Jack and whispered. "I have more of a reason to hate the bugs than you do. Dead Planet and parents. If I can't trust you to keep it professional, you aren't very good to me. Do I need to find someone else to guard Hikaru?" he asked.(edited)



 



Tessa begins to slowly thaw hikaru as the ice is annoying her as she sets up a nanomachine injection which will find a bug inside of him.



 



 



Leon had gone to medical, between his recent spar with Jack and being asked to have a VX suit installed he didn't really have much of a choice. Still sore, with bruising evident on his body, he arrived and saw the commotion. He looked at Aidan, seeing if he could tell anything.(edited)



 



 



"No sir i can can follow orders, but what else do you expect me to do if he becomes hostile?", Jack said easing up.



 



As he turned around he saw Leon. He moved to him. "Leon, we're going to get you more up to speed. One of the techs will help you with this." Leaning in he said. "I want you to back up Jack." He slid him a short sword and scabbard from the inventory with red and yellows gems in the hilt.



 



"You know you guys could just let my guard robots handle him... I am pretty sure he couldn't defeat them..." nore said.



 



Hikaru had to struggle for a long moment after asking to unfreeze himself. the struggle was because while he had frozen  himself with ease, he actually had never done this to himself, only to others. Eventually the ice shattered, and he felt like he could breath again, his body was not particularly numb, more just stiff from having been held in place for too long. "Note to self... freeze myself in a more comfortable position."



 



Ai shrugged as she resumed her scans of his brain.



Tessa injects the nanomachines.



 



Aidan offered. "Nore, you're in charge here. I have a friend to attend to." he walked out heading to find Sumire.(edited)



 



She nodded. "Sure..."



 



"Should we at least cuff him for now?", Jack asked before Aidan left, "Sir?"



 



"He is harmless as a kitten declawed right now." Ai said.



 



Hikaru did notice that neither of the girls were being particularly gentle with him, he could also hear the voice in his mind. 







don't let them do this, the voices in Hikaru whisper



 



The nanomachines begin exploring his body for the bug.



 



"A shotgun blast to Lily says otherwise. No offense doc, but I just want to minimize risk."



 



Leon watched intensely, curious.



 



Petell walks up to Leon. "Sir; how can I assist you today?"(edited)



 



Aidan finds Sumire. He tapped the door and waited for a response.



 



Hikaru blinked, "I wouldn't harm a fly." His eye twitched. "anyone else hear that high pitched screaming."



 



the nurse finishes treating Lilly and she just observes form the other biobed. remi hears her door chime. "enter" She replied as she was working on the report a glass of bourbon next to her.



"That is only the ghost of christmas past dying inside of you..." Nore replied to Hikaru.



 



Jack tensed up, "Doc?.....Hikaru, keep your hands at your sides, any sudden moves deemed hostile will be met with action. Play it cool, cooperate, and the doctors will help you."



 



Nore chuckled. "Lt. Commander Pine.... chill; there are six people in here who could floor this guy lest he pulls out some super gem weapon."



 



Leon was startled out of his trance. "Minor injuries and I was asked to get a... VX suit?"



 



"I wouldn't blame you if you crawled in that bottle." Aidan said in a normal tone. "I would prefer for you to stay with me, and finish off just that glass."



 



"You mean a VX implant. So you are a new assignment to Trinity... do you have your paperwork from personnel?" Petell asked Leon. "Come with me." he said taking Leon to a biobed for him to sit.



 



"I'll chill when when I know he isn't hearing voices."



 



Hikaru was sure to keep his hands at his side, but at the same time his nose started to itch, because really whenever you are in a stressful situation that's what noses do. "Ya'll know I don't need my hands to freeze something right? I mean that doesn't make my case any better, but."







"Hey man... we can all chill."(edited)



 



Sumire shrugged as Aidan entered. "Ice... why did his power have ot be ice..." She said with a sigh.



 



Leon nodded and sat down, handing the dr the papers. "Yeah, here."



 



"Cause I'm so poor I can't pay the heating bill."



 



Petell nodded to the other medical officer. "if you would like you can take over. it is a simple enough thing; even he could do it on his own just... side effects... is really why they have us do this... the little nanomachine is tearing a hole in your brain even if it does repair it when its done." He said to the other.



Nore laughed at Hikaru's statement.



 



"Yeah doesn't make me feel better, lucky and unfortunate for you, the sword Tere gave me absorbs magic.", Jack said with a dry chuckle.



 



"I think he was at least somewhat sane when he did that. The Medical staff are looking him over now." Aidan offered. The bottle was tempting him. He could smell it. It was taking more will power than it should to resist it.



 



Lilly seeing not much going on leaves medical.



 



kirin messages aidan, 'would you like any help with finding the bugs?'



 



Ai finishes her brain scan.



 



Aidan ordered a coffee and sat on an overstuffed chair farther away than he wanted to, but it minimized the smell  along with the strong coffee. "I want be closer to your right now, but that bourbon is taunting me."



"Coordinate with Lilly." Aidan responds to Kirin.



 



Jack wasn't sure what to do but to stay vigilant, "sigh Of course we have all the weird shit to deal with."



 



Leon was sitting there patiently.



 



Ai's scan finds nothing except high levels of psionic activity in his brain. She hands that to Nore as this was out of her scope. She goes to take over for Petell with Leon as Petell being one of two surgeons on the station would have a lot more important things to deal with than installing a VX. Nore nods as her nanomachines find nothing; she programs them to interface with his VX and emit a psi dampening field.   She then explains "In short the master bug is trying to control you. Ther eis nothing inside you persay; its telepathic."



"i've set up some nanotech to dampening what you are hearing... but it will only become a dull roar."



"I suggest enchancing and bettering your psionic powers..."



 



Hikaru started humming as he was waiting for results, at the same time the other was whispering to him, he was nodding his head. "So does the dampener affect my powers? or just theirs. cause yeah I can still kind of hear the beat of the drums, just... not as vividly as i could."



"Also can you do anything for the nausia?" He was somewhat relieved that there wasn't an actual bug inside his head, just that the proximity to the overmind was causing him to bug out.



 



"Just anything that... is trying to enter you.... anything you are doing internally would not be affected; think of it as putting insulation in a wall."



"I do." She gets him a zofran denigrating tablet



 



"Am I still needed here?", Jack asked easing up to a relaxed stance.



 



Taking the tablet he felt his mind settle, for the first time in days, he sighed and relaxed. "Really... I am sorry for shooting y'all but you have to realize that... the other voice can be very persuasive."



 



Ai comes back over to Leon with a small box and opens it pulling out an small chip she puts it to his ear canal and then legs grow in it. It crawls its way into Leon and begins to enter his brain healing him and making its way through finally deploying its nanomachines. All the while Ai is monitoring him with a scanner to make sure everything is returning to normal after the machine enters him. A HUD appears inside his optical vision. "Calibrating." It adjusts to make of an effective manner for how he operates. "Done.... any questions?" Ai asked Leon.







Nore shakes her head. "Nope; we are good here Lt. Commander."







Remi closes the bottle and puts in away as she downs her glass. "Sorry..." She then returns to her report. "It is not his sanity that triggered me... its his... ice powers."



 



 



Nore then replies to Hikaru "I dont think they hold you responsible... if they know anything about this sort of stuff... it wasn't you."



 



 



"Yeah.....mental orders......not a fun day. Glad.....nevermind. Alright I guess I'll go find something to do."



 



Hikaru stood up and stretched. "I probably shouldn't take missions off the ship for a while, I don't know why, but it's easier to cope up here than it is down there."







He got to leave medical, unless he was stopped by one of the other marines.



 



Nore told them to let him go.



 



 



Nore then sent him a VX message "talk to Captain Rembrant about having you join her staff in the command center; I am sure they could use someone with your service record if you feel you can't work field missions anymore."



 



He moved to a closer chair. "I just don't want to lose you, Sumire. As much as I try to be a rock for everyone, you're my sorry too."



 



"And medically there is no reason for us not to clear you to return to duty.... aside from an EMP wiping out the nanotech you should be good."



 



Leon sat there, looked at the box and closed his eyes, bracing for however it felt. But other than an odd, almost ticklish feeling of it walking through his ear, he felt nothing until it cut into his brain. The sudden pain caused him to bite down on his tongue to try and dull the momentary pain in his head, thankfully he didn't cut through or bite off his own tongue. Shortly, though, the pain faded, and he blinked a few times, the moments feeling like hours as he opened his eyes. "That was, odd..."



 



Ai nodded. "That is a typical response... odd ... anyway I will get your scans logged into the medical database. Did you have any questions for me?"



 



With the clearance for duty Hikaru looked at his messages for a moment. He was a touch worried, how long had it been since he had even gotten an email from Kiyo and Ari, he had been the last one to try and contact them, but they were both busy with their lives.







after a few moments he texted Sumarie asking where she was and if she was free, doctors gave him a clean bill of health and he wanted to appologize for having nearly shot her.



 



"None, thank you." He hopped off the bed. "Do I just head back to my room now?" He asked Ai, turning towards it.



 



Aidan added. "We are going to do this paperwork and then I am cooking you dinner. Thoughts?" he asked Sumire.



 



He supposed that he could appologize to Lilly as well, but he didn't know her nearly as well



 



Ai nodded to Leon. "Personnel will contact you if they have any questions. If you need follow up training someone will also follow up but for now you are clear to just go to your assigned quarters." She explained to him. 







remi types into her computer and says "Sure; I mean with the surface being as fucked as it is we cant go down there for anything normal; so we are stuck on the cityship... Not that this is bad..." Remi getting the message from medical about his clearance and an explanation as well as his own message she replied. "If you wanna meet sure; we can discuss things... I hope me running away didn't piss you off... just y our ice powers... they remind me of my fiance's..."







 



Leon nods and goes to his quarters. End Post: Leon.



 



 "It's a date, he said with a smile at Remi. Don't make me hunt you down. " Aidan walked over and kissed her on the forehead. "not pissed. Concerned. You matter to me." he winked at her and every to attend to his duties.
