Mission: Season 2: Mission 1: Day after Day
Location: DFS Lavie – Yuka’s Quarters
Timeline: October 11th 4566 - Late Night

Yuka it was in the study portion of the quarters going over paperwork that basically was the final documents that she needed to complete for pretty much the entire trip. Things were running almost too efficiently... she wondered if this had something to do with Ari because the girl was extremely efficient and she demanded such from her people; for being a 23-year-old journalism student who six months ago would beat the fuck out of random’s on the street it was interesting to see that the girl had finally become something of a role model to other people... even she herself had grown a lot over the past few months. She filed that last paper and then decided that she wanted to talk to Aidan about where things were because from the last meeting the only thing that was clear was that they still had feelings for each other but nothing else really made sense at the moment.

Aidan had wrapped up his workout. A nice long cardio and powerlifting session. He was tired. Walking in to their quarters, he moved to the wall locker and removed fresh clothing, and headed towards the shower. He was rinsing off the sweat and wasn't planning a long shower. One of the things Yuka never understood. Get in, get clean, get out. That was the mission.

Yuka stood by the door leaning against the door seal and just watched him in there. She seems Mesmerized by something then she shakes her head.
“ I adore the hell out of you but I feel like something bad is coming...” she said crossing her arms as he was taking a fast shower

"There was a time you enjoyed being in here with me." Aidan said honestly.

“... I do... still...” she shook her head
“ we just don’t get the chance anymore... I feel like I’ve aged five years in a month...”

"Mentally, I feel 100 and spent. Regardless of my boyish exterior. I can't remember the last time we had just you and I. No entanglements, other than the ship coming apart around us, as usual." He threw the towel at the recycler in a burst of anger.

She simply nodded. He was right as usual. She stared at the mirror in the room as she moved out of the way of the door. She just stared for a few minutes seemingly lost for some reason. “... there is a time when you realize that you may love someone but you don’t like them anymore... do you understand what I’m talking about here?” She asked

"i do. Carol remember? I love her, but could also punch her in the face, kinda." Aidan offered.

“... i’m at a loss... I want everything to be simple; for things to work but I don’t think…” she moves from the mirror to the couch

He finished drying off. Getting dressed in t-shirt and underwear but put on jeans afterward. "I wish I could tell you you're wrong. There isn't any one I have loved more than I love you, but right now, at least for RIGHT now, this isn't working for you, me or Emily. "
Sitting on the couch, he held her instinctively. It felt natural

When he spoke she knew what he was saying and she had no idea how to respond or how to react or even want to say… She had lost everyone before who she loved and apparently that was going to happen again. As he held her she just said nothing; she didn’t even move.

"For the record, I'm still not going anywhere. You call. I come running. But with the ship and the rate everything is going around here, I need a clear head. The fights with all three of us, cast a cloud over everything that none of us can afford right now. In your heart, I think you know that too. Though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to steal a runabout and kidnap you, just get the hell away from all of this. We both know neither of us could run from a fight." Aidan said honestly.

“ i’m not in frontline combat anymore… It doesn’t really matter what I do because all I’m doing is doing paperwork and making sure the rest of you do your job… But I understand what you’re saying for you because you’re going to be the one actually in combat... that doesn’t make this any better though... well Col. Thornton thanks for two months...” she removes his hands from herself and stands. She the shakes her head taking off the engagement ring dropping it on the table and walking away back into the study sealing the door behind her. She was numb and kind of shocked.

He removed his own and went to the replicator for a tag with string. He filled out the tag, tied it around his ring and left it on the counter. He packed up the small amount of stuff he needed. His pipes, and some ceremonial items. When she read the tag, it said. "When you stop running away from me and actually want to include me in what your feeling, let me know. You lock yourself away, constantly walk away from me. There needs to be two people working on this. "

Picking up his gear, he tagged the gun locked for transport and walked out asking the quartermaster for quarters.

They inform him that he already has the XO’s quarters on deck two next to the CO’s room. Yuka was held up in the study for awhile and when she came out and read the message it angered her. She replied to him over VX “ you’re the one leaving me and you tell me not to run away… What kind of load of shit is that… And as for including you and what I feel; you’re the one leaving… if you’re going to walk off and abandon me just like everyone else then don’t come back. Be sure to let Emily know as well at this point if this is what’s going to happen then I’m not interested... you both... goddamn it why did I ever even bother... you leave, she doesn’t even fucking talk to me so she might as will not even be here, Julian goes and gets himself killed, RINZ... heh... yeah... that... why do I even bother...” The message was most definitely full of anger it definitely seems like she moved out of the numbness stage.

Aidan deleted the VX, feeling it unworthy of a response. She had isolated herself from him and made him chase her so many times, she probably considered it normal behavior. Let her think she was right. The crowning touch was her emotional blackmail of getting him to concede to the three way relationship, despite his wishes and feelings. Too hell with what he wanted. Aidan was done catering to people.
Getting to his own quarters, he started to unpack the items and smooth out and store the clothing, making sure his uniforms were spotless for the morning.
