The Trial

Mission: Season 2; Mission 2: It's Only Fun Until Someone Gets Hurt
Location: City-Ship; Command Center; Conference Room
Timeline: October 19th 4566; Daytime

[Happens before people get knighted... I jsut posted in the wrong order.]


After Remi had finished what she was doing she headed to the lounge on the cityship. She got herself lunch as it was actually getting close to that time.

Kyle was now wearing a grey hoodie with black cargo pants and black sneakers. He has a small lunchbox in his hand as he walked into the lounge with his hoodie over his face.

He walked over to an empty table and set down his plane blue lunch box and sat there opening it.

Seleni walks in the lounge and sits across the table from Remi. "So how are you faring?" she asks.


Aidan was finishing up a partial duty shift on the bridge. Paperwork more than anything else. He was going to get a bite to eat of work out. He hadn't decided yet. Leaving the bridge, he headed to his quarters.


scott is in his bunker working on tearing holes in space


As Aidan was on the way to his quarters a group of three men were at his door. Two of them were men in power armor suits in full black and another looked like a judiciary officer. "Col Thornton; you should have gotten our confidential communique. Admiral Layton was passed this information from the committee."


Kyle pulled out some Teriyaki chicken and chopped vegetables from some Tupperware. Opening them up and pulling out his fork and knife silently eating.


scott also finalised and teleported a dominator to aiden


"Gentleman one second." He pulled his pad and accessed his VX while at the same time he called Marines for backup. Seeing the message, he read it and said, "What can I do for?" Aidan said.


"So you did not get the communique?" the man asked him.


Jack walked in with Sera in tow, both getting food before finding an empty table.


"It just came in. Must be some odd delay. Again what I can I help up with?" Aidan replied. (edited)


scott takes another dominator and grabs his q taser...and calls ceci to come with him to the lounge


Remi saw Jack enter but then when Sera was with him she just stayed where she was not feeling too fond of her right now.

Meanwhile the man and his men nod. "Walk with us to find the subject."

As Aidan fell in behind them, two Marines in ship power armor fell in behind Aidan.


scott and ceci walk in to see sera and jack and tinks about what he wants to make for lunch


Kyle spotted Seraphina and Jack and shook his head repacking his lunch. He grabbed his necklace and lunch box and made his way to the corner of the room.


"I'm... surviving..." remi said her mood soured by the presence of Sera.

The guards, man and Aidan soon arrive at the lounge and stand by the door. The man opens it and looks inside scoping out the room before he ended. He waits for the room to take a pause.


"We should find an onsen or something to help you relax," Seleni says, noticing her mood.


Kyle sat in the corner and reopened the box and continued eating in the country. Pulling his hoodie down further to hide himself from everyone else.


Remi nods. 

The group of guards and the judicial man comes up to Jack. "Lt. Commander Jack Pine; I suggest you come with us; we have much to discuss."


"What's this about?", Jack asked, having a very bad feeling about this.


"This is something better discussed in private." The man suggests.


Jack slowly got up, knowing he didn't really have a choice.
Sera just watched quietly.


The man takes Jack with the guards and takes him to a large room with a desk with three seats on it, more guards and a door leading off to an adjoining room. There were a ton of seats behind him. "Sit." The man says to Jack.

A message goes out to everyone who was part of team one and various members of the crew to report to that room and take a seat.


Kyle got up and walked over to where he was told to go after packing his lunch again. He sneaked his way to the corner and sat there waiting.


remi gets up "Um... yeah..." She grabs what was left of her food eating it on the way wondering where she was summoned.


Sera receives the message and heads to the designated room. 

Jack took a seat, really not liking how this was looking. "Now, What is this about?"


scott walks over to kyle and says hello


Seleni gets the message, just as she was about to continue talking. Pausing for a moment to read the message, she instead gets up and follows Remi.


Kyle jumps surprised someone was talking to him and pulls his hoodie over his face. “H-h-hello...”


scott see the message and says come on looks like the mystery dudes want us at something


Aidan sat up front wanting to be a part of the action in case he could help. (edited)


"My employers will be with you in a moment." The man said as he moved to the adjoining room. A moment later Elios Adams, some old Federation politician and Eire come out. Once others had arrived and taken positions by each seat or were escorted to seats by guards the man who brought Jack in began to speak. "Order... This special session of the Intergalactic War Crimes Tribunal is now in session; presiding is Lord Elios Adams of the TUC Organization, Senator Gorlok Noric of the Federation and Miss Eire Lexington of the Federation. I am Erikson from the TUC Judicial Coordination Ministry... This session will be conducting the arraignment and trial of Lt. Cmdr Jack Pine and those of his Section 6 of SABER for their involvement in Crimes Against Humanity, Mass Genocide and multiple uses of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Court is now in session. Does the accused have any statements to make to the tribunal before we begin?" (edited)


“Wh-what?!?!” Kyle shouted as he heard the accusations.


"I'm sorry what? What are you even talking about. Section 6 does not have WMDs, and we were absorbed by trinity. S6 has done no such crimes, they can't if they don't exist here."
Sera gasped from where she was sitting, "What n-no."


"Your own records and statements of fact good sir... Unless you fabricated them..." The prosecutor begins to play records from the destroyed ship that Jack as formerly on and in charge of from back when he and others took part in some of the very crimes he had told Erin and others about.


“Y-you c-c-can’t d-do th-that! I-it w-wasn’t u-under y-your laws!” Kyle said standing up shaking.



Aidan wanted to protest, but he also wasn't privvy to all the information on S6. He and Erin hadn't talked much lately.


Adams stands. "You committed many atrocities... You are a danger to others; crimes against humanity are not subjective."


scott sits there shaking his head thinking this is gonna go well


"You're talking about actions committed by the USO. Section 6 was never under my order to do what you're charging us with."


The prosecutor then sates "Mr. Pine; you were in command of S6, SABER USO and all these other associated organizations correct; this is indeed what you made those of us here believe therefore you as the commanding officer are held liable for all of their actions."


"No, I command S6. And SABER is the military department of Section 6. The USO was the government we were a division of. Most of our larger scale operations were under order of Uso Tasuki." (edited)


“Th-that’s l-like c-calling m-m-me responsible f-for the h-holocaust. Y-you p-p-people a-are s-stupid...” Kyle said quietly backing back into the corner.


"So you are saying you were involved in none of this; that you participated in none of these actions?" The prosecutor asked.


"I was under order."


"Have you heard of the UCMJ?"


"No."


"So you as a solider were unaware of the laws that govern war and the conventions that make up standard practice of combat?"


"Our laws are not the same in the Kikyo Sector. Each government has their own policy on war."


"You understand this is not one government correct... This is an intergalactic committee... We are not limited to one empires laws here... This is a commission of intragovernmental bodies." Eire said


"From another timeline or dimension. Humanity was never conquered here like in the history of Kikyo."


"So due to laws being different you are saying that justifies mass murder?" The prosicutor piped up.


"No. No I'm not."


“A-again... y-you p-p-people a-are t-too st-stupid... y-you d-don’t get I-it...” Kyle said


"We don't understand... Than enlighten me... the prosecution calls to the stand Mr. Kyle Dee. Explain to the court how we do not understand how murdering of tons of people is justified... On top of that would you enlighten us on how you met your commander..."


"He is not one of my men. Kyle is a civilian." Jack said


“H-he k-knew m-m-my b-boss... b-but n-n-not everyone’s h-hands a-are clean...” he paused taking a deep breath. “Statute of limitations. Not... saying it’s right... just saying nothing is right... you have no jurisdiction over something that happened long ago. It’s like history.”


Aidan said to Jack and Kyle. "these guys are more powerful than Trinity and more importantly, they have jurisdiction throughout the galaxy."


(Kyle would have lived through it all, and known what happened past when Jack and co came here.)


“Th-this g-Galaxy... n-not the other...” He pointed out


Aidan added, "genocide does not have a statute of limitations. You should know that having been in the Nazi SS."


scott wonders what hes here for if hed need to be a witness


“B-but I-I’m n-not p-punished... e-explain th-then.”
“M-my point b-being... h-he’s n-not directly p-part... w-wasn’t h-his choice and n-not what he w-wanted... that was Uso... n-not M-Mr P-pine...”


"A commander being held responsible for the actions of his subordinates." The man replied. "As Col. Thornton has stated there is not statute of limitations on crimes against humanity or war crimes... genocide is illegal everywhere; I suspect if there were an interunversal court in your home universe they would hold you accountable under these same standards as we are." the senator replied.
"Let me ask you; if your universe were in peace would it be okay for you to walk up to a planet and blow that entire world and everyone in it up... That is how this logic is applied; in war certain acts are illegal." Adams replies to the group and the tribunal. "There are even things we EU or Q as some call us are not allowed to do; slaughtering of worlds is one of those."


“T-technically... Yes... s-sex is l-l-legal in p-public s-so...” He said admitting.


Adams then asks "Jack... Did you decline to follow your leaderships orders in these instances? If not then you are just as guilty as your superiors."
(look at WWII)


“D-different v-values th-there... h-humans a-and sp-spacers w-were m-madly k-killed t-too...”


"No I didn't.", Jack admitted, "But I was not always involved. The initial assault on Xuno was under direct command of Uso personally. I was not brought in until after."


"You were still a part of it." Adams said.


“B-but th-they w-were f-forgiven b-b-by K-Kyro! Th-the leader a-and the p-people f-forgave th-them... wh-why accuse t-them. S-Section 6 l-left th-them! S-so th-they c-could e-escape.” (edited)
“J-jack I-is innocent!” He said stomping his foot down on the ground. (edited)

"Are you going to charge me for being a bioweapon too? I was made by a corporation who only sought to conquer, and the USO went to war with them to prevent that. The SAoY cleansed whole planets, and persecuted those people. Sera's race was one of them. But we took them in because they needed a home."


“T-too much t-too accuse with so little e-evidence...” Kyle stated. “C-coming was a waste of our t-time.”


Aidan offered to Jack. "Dude. Lawyer up, and shut up. You are NOT helping your case."
Adams turned to the Jack Pine. "You just admitted to being complicent in the atrocities to a degree at least."


Adams asked. "In order to have saved someone from a planetary cleansing, would you not have to be in the operation that was cleansing the planet?"


"No. We were not part of the empire. USO was a independent government. Refugees were displaced from both purges, of both races. We sent out a call and accepted them in."


Adams pinched the bridge of his nose. "Help me understand something. You and your fleet was where this was taking place.....genocide was occuring on a planetary scale.....and you decided to just hang out until the distress call to savage what's left over?" (edited)
Adding that Adams said, "instead of intervening and trying to stop the slaughter with your fleet of ships?


"Because we were outnumbered. The empire has ships in the millions, and technology far greater then ours. We would have been sending countless people to die and change nothing. USO is but a puddle of a government, in a field of wells."


"and then you just casually joined them..." Eire replied.


"We did not participate in those purges."


“That h-happened before them...” Kyle said, “B-besides... MoD was far worse than them.”


Erin walks out of the back room. "If you killed so many people and were so regretful of what you did but you did nothing... how does that make any sense... Dude... If you DID nothing then why would an international court and its equivalent of Interpol be hunting you...?!" Erin seemed to be emoionally set off by this entire event and had been getting grilled for awhile by intergalactic cops on the manner.


“Lord Pine should not be given double jeopardy on things he’s a-already been judged on.” He then covers his mouth and backs up.


Jack froze at that. Did. He. Just call him Lord?


The entire court looks at Kyle.


Kyle tries to walk out


Black powered suits block the door.


"Kyle you wont be leaving" Scott said


“Uh...mmmmm...”


"Explain that statement." Eire said to Kyle.


Adams says, "Mister Dee, you haven't been dismissed from the stand." (edited)


“D-double j-j-jeopardy... he’s a-already b-been p-punished...” He said quietly turning around.


"Lord?" Eire said.


“L-Lord?”
“Wh-who...” Kyle said looking away.



"i think you may want to explain why you called him lord pine" Scott said


He stands there silent.

"I would like to know this too."


“Wh-why I-Is I-it me... Y-you kn-know...”
“H-he’s... Royalty...”


"Royalty... please explain..." Eire asked.


“No... please don’t make me...”


"Kyle, explain." Eire asked


Aidan started to turn red. "Kyle, you need to talk NOW, or these people are going to through you under the jail."


“S-Section 6 Became a n-new government... basically you b-became r-royal l-like Ky-Kyro...”


"The. Fuck??"


“Y-yeah...”
Kyle scratched the back of his head, “Y-you l-left th-there s-so I r-remember...” (edited)


Sera was confused, "What government?"


Remi sighs. "Just explain that you got your memories back with your old personality."



Kyle sighs and just sends a short summary to Jack via VX.

"According to what he just sent me. S6 dissolved 6 months after we few were pulled here. ST copies were used to replace us who disappeared. They settled a world called Sirris VI, in a Sanctum star system."


“C-can I-I g-go... I-I’m m-not c-comfortable...” Kyle said scratching his arm. (edited)


"It was a Unitary Aristocracy."


Remi sighs and shakes her head. "Why the fuck do all of you lie to us... Sera; all you have been is been a bitch since you heard Kyle died... Jack... is the only reason you---" She rages and goes to leave the room but the guards stop her. "Fucking let me leave!" Adams coughs. "Effective until someone explains this or allows us to undo actions form the previous history we will be locking the people whom are from this alternate reality away from the rest of us... If they cannot be truthful and cannot actually tell us their real history than they are not safe with the rest of the people here." Everyone appears in another room next to what looks like a stargate. A line of all the other former s6 people is made outside with a equal sized line of Tessa's robots. Tessa is standing next to this stargatelike thing. "Please step through the gate one at a time please."


"But we are telling you the truth."


"You are; then why is half of it lies and the other half doesnt make sense?" Adams asked.


Kyle just shakes his head and sits in the corner, “Baka Baka Baka Baka Baka Baka Baka... Why does this have to happen...”


"What is it you think we're lying about?!"


Erin stepped up "Okay; sp you killed worlds right... you told me things or were you just trying to sound cool?" Erin asks standing in front of the gate talking to Jack.

"When did I say we killed worlds?"


“They never killed worlds! Who told you this?! You’re absolutely insane this is insane!” Kyle was starting to have a mental breakdown. “You’re not making sense this is all illogical and doesn’t compute with anything.”

"Well... Get in the gate; when you are ready to comply with our laws and our world then you can come back." Remi walks out enraged over all... Ari shakes her head and says "Well... maybe you and yours should have been nicer and should have followed what we do here." She then heads off.Tessa's guard robots approach Jack. "Enter or we will make you." The robots say.


The gruards from TUC start removing those they can verify are lawfully citizens or have records here; they release Kyle, Chandra and a couple others and send the rest through the portal.

Kyle dashed off. While Chandra follows after him.


Aidan stands near Sumire for support.
