Mission: Season 2: Mission 1: Day after Day
Location: DFS Lavie - Holodeck
Timeline: October 11th 4566 - Nightime

Ari had finished her conversation with Jack and changed into a spaghetti string tank and a skirt. The two were pink; one of the only times she would wear such a thing was at a time like this when she didn't give a shit.  She got up and put on sandals after tying her hair into two tails. Something she also never did. She then just grabbed her duty coat; it was a force of habit as its not like the ship would get hold. She just wandered to the holodeck putting on the coat and zipping it up as she set the brogram to a battle on an ice planet. The wind was wiping as her hair blew about in the force along with her skirt and anything else that was not tied down. It was amazing the tiny girl did not get blown away herself.  She watched as a city seemingly exploded in the distance but instead she turned from the explosion and went into a cabin covered with snow. The inside was nice and toasty warm but the outside was a freezing deathtrap; the mixture of deathly cold and peacefully warm environments seemed to be of enjoyment to her; especially the stark contrast of the peaceful cabin sky air but in the background cities were being destroyed by death robots.


In the cabin there was a single flower pot with a beautiful looking flower; she tended to the only speck of hope on this ice cold dead world.



Ari started channeling power from her neckless which was a blue gem into the flower feeding it life and dampening its soil. the blue light emanated from the gem as she closed her eyes and worked knelt down on her knees back to the door only paying attention to the flower at this point.


Seleni, having decided to visit the holodeck to see what it can do, finds herself in a barren snowscape with high speed winds. "W-why it blowing so hard? And more importantly who else is here?" She asks out loud, looking around trying to find shelter.


She sees a destroyed city of rubble one direction and a cabin in another covered in snow but seeming to be intact.



Hikaru had for the night gone through the process of turning off the nanites which had subdued his abilities, and instantly felt mofe comfortable in his own skin. When the doctor had told Hikaru to seek out a training ground he had gone for the holodeck, and the sight he was greeted with, was a throw back he did not want.


Seleni trudges through the snow towards the cabin, hoping to find some sort of warmth.


Immediately he was stuck in the flashback, only this time he was armed with very little, he had come wearing summer shorts, and a muscle shirt, with his cyrokenitic abilities on the forefront the cold didn't bother him, but he was left in the same kind of hellscape he had tried to escape almost a year ago. "Fuck."

His first thought, weapon, he needed weapons, he then needed to track down the enemy, and kill them all, his heart raced as the memories set in, his eyes looking to the sky for a bombing run like the ones that had killed every other commanding officer.
(snow world... great choice)

He had saw no such bombing run; it was like the city blew itself up. Seleni saw Ari giving life to the follow when she entered the cabin.

(she is now currently attending to a flower... it actually looks quite cute the way she’s like knelt on her knees in front of it using a blue gem to give it water)

Seleni, seeing Ari, asks "Did you create this iceland?"



(and her hair is tied into twin tails)
she was super focused on the flower until she heard someone speak. But by this time she had given the flower enough water to where it was no longer doing and because of the fire in the cabin it was also no longer freezing the flower was currently living


Flan wakes up in the middle of frozen pond, on top of a thick blanket of snow and ice, getting up and finding herself quite confused.. "what the.... ah.... what is this.." she wondered, walking through slowly the snow, followed a "path" of empty land that seemed like it was meant to lead somewhere zipping up her jacket  (flan is in just her jacket, tanktop and shorts like usual)(edited)


She turned around and saw Seleni “ I didn’t really expect that anyone would come in here... “ She just makes eye contact with her as she is now standing there
Flan sees a cabin In the distance for the rough there is the rubble of the city that just exploded

Hikaru was still well alert, his body moving through ice and snow and over the outskirted turain he had found a pistol somewhere along the way. When he saw someone else he wasn't sure if it was a civilian or an enemy soldier, rounding on the girl in the path he drew the weapon and put it towards the back of her head. "Name, rank, serial number."


Off in the distance he can see the cabin. It does appear to be occupied


"a cabin..? that seems.. too convenient.. too suspicious.." she thinks to herself she sneakily runs to the cabin's wall, not being careful she hit the side, unknowing of her mistake, she continues along the side of the cabin finding a small circle window, looking through it, seeing a girl with a flower.. being tended to? "this is off.. creepy even.. what is this.." she thinks to herself as she stares at the girl through the window


"Since I was able to reconstruct my home...I was wondering if I could reconstruct my favorite place." Seleni responds as she sits near the fire.


turning around to hearing his words quickly she does as he says.. "ah-ahh... ah um.." stuttering because a mixture of fear and coldness


“ reconstruct your favorite place… Was it that mansion we went to?” She asked Seleni as she returned her attention to the flower cutting some of it’s dead parts off and allowing it to flourish.


"Flennel.. Lan-Lanreth... E-Engineer.. u-um..." chattering her teeth through her words "I.. don't know that last p-part... I don't know where... I am.. don't shoot.. I don't know how to.. fight.."


Inside the cabin something on one of the walls started to beep. Ari finished clipping and then got up and looked at the beeping object. It was a remote sensor that was attempting to tell her people were in proximity to the cabin. It apparently activate it a little too late because obviously Seleni was here but she decided to check outside anyway opening the door and seeing two figures off in the distance. For getting her coat she just wanders back out into the snow. It’s incredibly cold out here


Seleni giggles. "No, It's a place in the old commerce district."


“ maybe wearing a tank top wasn’t the best idea...” She said to herself as she covered her self with her arms attempting to hold her warmth
The wind blows angerly and causes her skirt, tank top and hair to blow rapidly around
It starts to snow almost a blizzard like conditions


"Cabin walk too it." Hikaru kept the gun trained on the girl pressing it to her back to have her pick up pace. The cabin looked like one of the old way stations. If she was an enemy there would be a radio in the cabin to call for her capture, if she was an ally than she could confirm that as well."


“ yeah this is—“ she shivers “fuck me it’s cold...”


"Open the cabin, get inside."


she as they approached notices the two figures. One is most evidently female and the other is a man. Ari turns on her VX IFF signal identifier scans who they are. She tilts her head and stares at Hikaru “ Lieutenant want to explain to me why the fuck you have one of our engineers at gun point!?”


Seleni, having chosen a light shirt and a skirt as well, shivers as the freezing cold gets inside the cabin.


The wind continue to blow angerly especially when she spoke it seem to somehow pick up


(hikaru is wearing shorts, and a muscle shirt, but he's also cyrokenitic so as the song goes the cold never bothered me anyway)



she walks back, bumping her back against the cabin, side stepping around the cabin slowly with her arms extended out to the sides, showing that she's unarmed she follows the wall around to the cabin, finding a down, then opening the door.. upon closing the door she falls back onto her bottom on the ground

As Flannel enters the cabin at Hikaru’s behest she tilts her head and glares at Hikaru as he arrived at the cabin.
(people really are not paying attention to what’s going on are they)

(hikaru just got to the cabin, along with flan, they didn't have a chance to react to what came before, and Hikaru is 


(no but here’s the thing Ari demand an explanation as they were walking towards the cabin because her IFF system identified them as members of the Lavie crew and told her who they are... Flan walked in and now Ari is still standing outside head tilted glaring at Hikaru; so she’s not by the flower anymore)

Hikaru blinked as his girlfriend suddenly appeared in the hellscape around them, thoughts from two different timelines coming in as she was yelling at him as a luitenant of her crew, and saying the engineer was one of theirs. "But this is Alister IV, i didn't meet you till a year later... but this... this has to be Alister IV," He bit his lip for a moment. "this is not right."(edited)

flan standing inside the cabin, slowly backing away inside, hiding from the figures(edited)


“... what are you babbling about..” (we did Alister IV The assault unit might’ve called it something else though) she grabbed him by the wrist and brought him inside. She did not provide him an explanation. Once he was inside she close the door and shivered a little bit she went back over to her flower ensuring that it’s status had not changed any.
“ at least this thing is alive...” she commented taking in the flower Like it was the last beautiful thing in the universe


Seleni suddenly comes up from behind Flan. "I was not expecting this to happen."


flan sitting near the dim corner.. quiet as to observe whats going on.. "I recognize them... but why are we here.." she thinks to herself(edited)
she turns around quickly spotting someone she's doesnt remember
"who.. wha..?"


Ari comes over to Flan. “ it’s OK everything’s good… You wandered into one of my programs that I used to play wargames and stuff with… In this particular one I also have basically tried to keep stuff alive but so far this flower is the only thing I’ve been able to keep alive... I’m Ari... I guess you would consider Remi’s best friend and boss...”


Hikaru was trying to come down from his panic attack, but at the same time without answers he had no idea what was going on, this looked like Alister IV, it had to be. There was nowhere else in the universe this could be. But Ari shouldn't be here, "Ari, where the fuck are we, this is Alister IV,  did someone fuck with time!?"


“ what are you babbling about... did your sister give you some messed up drugs or something.... this is a holodeck program.”


Seleni giggles. "I'm Seleni. AI of the Murasashi." She says to Flan.


"A holodeck program." He looked at the gun in his hand, it had come from here, if she was telling the truth than it wouldn't hurt him, if she was lying well it was an easy way off this hell hole. Not really wanting to go back to put up with the war he had escaped, he pulled the gun to his chest and pulled the trigger with little to no hesitation.

When he didn't die he tossed the gun. "Can... we change the setting please?"


"O-oh..Ooooh.... I see what's going on..." looking at the Ai, Seleni "ah.. now I remember who you are... I was inside you that one time.. when we went into the school.. the ship right..?"


“ inside you... according to her text messages you’ve been inside a lot more than her... I think that sounds a little too vulgar but whatever it’s not like anyone here cares...” Ari said shrugging as she tends to the flower. “ so you want this to be a beach or some shit... I for onetend to like this place because when I’m feeling depressed, fucked and overly just in a bad place this matches my mood... and for some reason this little plant brings me joy...”




"i assume you know who I am then through remi.. you must've heard quite a bit if you're her best friend.. huh.. well I can't say this isn't awkward." "anyways I don't even know how I ended up in this place.."


"Yes, but this is a lot like the hellscape i ran from when i joined the Lavi, hell a moment ago i thought you were all soldiers out to kill me or vice versa... ice worlds... don't sit well with me despite how good i aclimate to them."

"Not a beach, we could do litterally any blasted little world, just not one with a tundra setting,. I get i interupted your me time, but." HIkaru gestured towards his face, he was crying subtly but there were tears passing down his eyes, and he was stuck looking at the floor unable to look up because he seemed afraid of the windows. "Sorry Remi, and the girl I pointed a gun at... this is just... bad memories."


“ you enter the holodeck silly” Ari replied


"pointing a gun at me.. this is why I need to know how to fight.. because this could've been reality.." Flan said


“ as for what Remi has told me... she adores you... mean for only meeting for a few hours you two have been quite the impression on each other apparently... and it’s all right guys the gun wasn’t real and this is just a game of mine that I use to decompress and calm down... I guess if you want me to change it to something else I can do that… I guess we could change it to something from my time and depress me even more... “She removed herself from her flower and goes over to a wall panel removing it and changing the program.
They now appear in a hotel room. Ari just gets up puts the wall panels back on and then just lays on the bed(edited)


"its not the gun.. its.. what could've happened had this been another scenario.. anyways.. yeah.. me and remi became close friends.. I met her in a break room.." Flan said


Hikaru lets out a long breath as he watches the wood of the cabin turn to soft carpet, he falls to the ground and sighs after a moment. "I could teach you some self defense, i'm the Lavi's cheif of security, Hikaru Ino, hit me up sometime and I'll give you some basic lessons." He said rubbing his eyes and hiccuping after a moment, before moving towards Ari.

"Wait does that mean that you have told Remi about me?"


"and I met Seleni from being inside her..-- also I met hikaru inside seleni.."



Seleni looks away and coughs.



"hi seleni.. its weird not seeing you as a ship.." Flan said

“ that wasn’t for you I was talking about Flan... Remi likes her...” Ari said


"yeah, but you like me... and if you two are friends..." He turns towards Seleni, "you two share stories right?"


"remi is a close friend of mine.. me and her.. share history in the past.."


Ari just lays on her side and curls her legs up against herself.


"the Rembrants and Lanreths kinda.. know eachother" Flan said


“ her original family was actually closer. The Rembrant family may be business affiliates but yeah...” Ari said


Seleni looks at Hikaru for a moment then sits next to Ari, concerned. "Do you want me to change it to the beach from my home?" she asks.


Hikaru went to the bed, running a hand along Ari's shoulders as she started to curl up. He moved to her side and laid down with her. "Thank you." He whispered to her ear.


“ people tend to forget I am the head of information security… It’s my job to literally know everything there is to know about everyone in this group literally if you’re part of Trinity I pretty much have to know everything about you... it really sucks because it makes dating worthless... and yeah you don’t like it because my program remind you of that world I’m sorry...”
Ari sighs


(mine was being written alongside kir's so i guess they happened at the same time)


"so seleni.. how're you doing" flan pokes her cheeks and other parts "this is almost surreal for me.."


Ari didn’t really reply to the beach comment


"um we have been on a few dates Ari... I never found them worthless." He gently held her against him.


"a holodeck.. huh..hmm.." flan thinks to herself spacing out staring at the floor


"Better since I've gotten this body. At least I don't have to worry about maintaining nanobots every week." Seleni responds as she gently strokes Ari's head.


"ah.. I was gonna ask.. if you ever needed me to stow away and fix you up, im always here.."


Ari sits up and then extends her hand out staring at it.


"so this is a holodeck... I might as well show a bit of myself and show who I am.. Ari, you know about the history of Remi and I.." her voice gets quiet proper and prim, no longer tense from what happened 30 minutes ago "seleni do you care for.. a dance?"
"I feel this will get things to a right atmosphere"


“ do I know the history of your people… Yes I do… It’s the unfortunate thing of being in the job I am I have to know everything... just like I am the person is to complete the reports when someone dies under my command... like during that damn evacuation... kids dying in my arms and I’m the one who has to do the paperwork... then he comes back and acts like it’s all worse for him and doesn’t even care about me...” She mumbled seeming more and more depressed as her statement continued. There definitely was something on her mind but nobody had any idea what.


"Give me a moment," Seleni says to Flan.



Hikaru sat up for a moment, having no idea whom she was talking about, but took matters into his own hands, he picked up ari and put her on his lap.



His arms wrapped around her. "You saved my life, with that evacuation, you helped me while i was having a sezuire, and you just saved me again. I would do anything for you, and you know that Ari." His grip around her was soft but forceful as he held her like a teddybear. "Also don't call our dates worthless, they meant a lot to me."


“ only saved you once… When did I save you again... I’m confused... and I only did what a friend would do I mean why the fuck would I leave you lying they’re having a seizure… Anybody who would do that isn’t a friend.” She again did not reply to the date comment. She looks over Flan... “ The bad ass captain and chief information security for Trinity as well as the bad ass idol of Sumire Rembrant.. and you get to see her like this… What a great first impression huh...” She said in a depressed fashion.
“ i’m killing my own reputation by being whiny...” she lamented


Slowly the scene changes again to a park of blossoming cherry trees. "Reputation?" Seleni asks curiously.


"Did you not notice the part where i used a gun on my own body, fake or not, you just saved me from a lot of trauma and paperwork." Hikaru didn't know what to say to the friend comment. He was actually a little hurt by it.

"Oh I see. so just friends than." He  went from holdng ari to not pulling away his affection. His revenge for the comment was swift touching her back and forming ice cubes that ran down her tank top.


"bad ass idol of.. sumire?" she turns around  a kimono appearing on her, almost naturally, a tune to the environment around her "this place oh my gosh... who did this?"


“... for once oh my gosh is the right answer... and what are you... ah!! No...” The ice forming on her was giving her a chill and being that all she actually had on was the tank top making it wet displayed the fact that she had no bra on. “No!” She demanded as she bonks him on the head. “Don’t use your ice powers here!” She blushed. “ and yeah friends... I explained this before... it’s not like your my fiancé or anything... besides I don’t think I could do that right now... now put me down...  and how can I save you when it’s just a hologram... I don’t understand” she seems to be getting aggravated with herself. Ari In spite of her anger and depression and everything else the appearing cherry blossom tree along with the various other things drew a smile from her.


"you two are silly hehe.." she let a giggle "might have to change your shirt though..' she said pointing at her wet top


"This place.....used to be on a paradise world. It has a serenity that you won't find elsewhere in a war torn galaxy." Seleni says with a hint of longing in her voice.


"this place is amazing.. seleni.. im a huge fan of places.. like this" Flan elated


“ I idolize places like this...” Ari said longingly as well


"Lover, boyfriend, master, i don't care, I thought we were past 'just friends'. It makes it sound like i sleep with just anyone." Hikaru huffed and though he was appreciative of the art work he had done on Ari's tank top it felt hollow now that his place was just a friend. He looked to the place that they were in the small touches of Japan bringing back familial memories but now he just went to the bed and laid flat on his back looking at the cieling. "Just when I was really starting to get into this whole relationship."


"My quarters is stuffed with merch.. like this.."


Not really caring that they knew about her secret love for all things like this… After all the people in here with her were all super nerds as well. “... master... master... really...” she barks him on the head again and repeatedly does that… “... eh... dude... like... just because we are like sweethearts and shit doesn’t mean that I’m your girlfriend… Doesn’t that title belong to your sister soulmate or whatever the fuck you want to call her... isn’t that what you told me when we started meeting each other your primary is your sister I’m just sort of here... “


Seleni glances at Flan and stifles her own giggling.


"hm?" she quickly looks over at seleni "did you pick this place?"


Hikaru didn't block the hits to his head, he knew he was asking a lot of Ari but at the same time it felt kind of degrading to have to explain all of this, also the two strangers now knew about his entire love life with all the parts that some people didn't agree with. "Primary... turns out it's way more complicated than that. I love you idiot, but all you ever say is that i'm just your friend. Like I'm the one you call when you run out of options for a night fling. Things changed, I want to keep you both, cause i love you both. "

"I guess that doesn't really make it easier."


"I did. I found this while I was wandering around a world during refit back in my time with the Confederacy." Seleni explains.


“ it’s fine and yeah I know you have feelings for me… But like something you have to understand is that because of your feelings for her I’m always going to be secondary… As much as you don’t want to admit that you know it’s true just as well as I do… That doesn’t mean you love me any less it’s just a fact.”
“ Family comes first.”
“ and I wouldn’t make you choose anyway” Ari continued


she runs and hugs seleni giggling "I LOVE these types of places, Its always been my dream to be in these types of places iloveitsomuch..! aahh~!" she practically fangirl'd as she hugged her excitedly


Ari was too distracted to pay attention to her surroundings right now


"You could be a part of that family." Hikaru sighed and got up to look at Ari. "I don't intend to choose, and I would rather have both, I don't want to be the last guy you call. I want... eh I guess you get it. But that just means that I won't accept just being friends. I don't want to be just the toy you call up. It makes me feel dirty."


"UBUGU!!" Seleni grunts as she's tackled by Flan.


Hikaru's eyes drift to the other couple a smile goes onto his lips seeing them happy, if only his situation could have been more like that.


Ari walked over to the flower that was still here in it’s pot. She just stared at the small violet flower. she then looked at the cherry blossom tree.
She shook her head and sat on the ground


"I love all things like this.. its my dream..like this.." she sits down a raft appears under me and seleni, a large body of water appeared beneath us in the scenery as the day shifted into night time "seleni, this  is what i like.." she raises a hand and lanterns appear in the air, on the water, all floating creating a rather ethereal, night environment


Hikaru sighed and just sat up in the raft which he was surprised to deal with, looking at the couple then back to Ari.(edited)




"It's....otherworldly..." Seleni breathes.


(the raft is more like a square platform with walls, to prevent fall ins)
"this is what i dream of.. being.." she sits down on her knees looking at the lanterns "this is where I want to retire to.."


Ari just sends the flower away to safety then just lays there without another word staring up at the night sky darkness.


"It's peaceful, isn't it?" Seleni asks. "Only if....the galaxy could ever be like this."


"if only.. we've all could've been happy.." flan stares up into the sky, reaching her seleni's hand and grabbing it
flan whistled a little tune which became the background music for the scene in the holodeck as it fit the ambience


Hikaru let out a sigh was he being to selfish? he didn't know. He had no idea what to do. He looked up at the sky, seeing the lights, the stars and lanterns and all of the wonders of the night sky.  should he just be content with being a call boy? He struggled with that thought.  "it is pretty, but not as pretty as the lady you care about."



Ari gets up and VX signals the arch. The door appears and she exits the holodeck heading to the area she usually smoked at which was that break area. She lit a cigarette and took a seat smoking.


flan sits up and talks over to hikaru "so are you guys gonna do it in here..?"



Seleni watches Ari leave.


"I wanted too." Hikaru shrugged. "But I don't really want to be just her call boy, i do know where she is coming from, i'm not trying to replace her old fiance just as she isn't trying to replace my sister, but... I thought there would be room for both in our hearts."


"sounds complicated.."


"More than I am comfortable admitting, but every now and then I can't really help but feel used with how she talks about me." Hikaru shrugged. "I love her, but she's tough, and doesn't give a lot in return."


"Go...Go to her and be by her side if you do love her" Seleni says gently.


Looks over at seleni "you are just.. the most precious cinnamon bun.."


Hikaru pulls himself up with a jump shaking the raft, swallows and walks out the door to follow Ari it wasn't hard he just had to follow the smell of smoke, walking up to her. "I'm not trying to replace him. I wouldn't make you choose."


"If you've seen what I've done in the past....would that opinion stand?" Seleni asks, pain showing in her eyes.


"same can be said about me.. read my VX log, my family and I sold weapons to darius's forces.. I dont share my past with anyone because what matters is now.."
she replied with a somewhat understanding look in her eyes


“ you think I ran off because I think you’re trying to replace him… And you realize you’re not just some sex toy… I wouldn’t belittle myself that much but just giving myself to some random… But I guess you don’t understand that much about me do you...” she put out her cigarette “ I guess at least someone found love tonight” she shakes her head and sighs. She then begins to walk off aimlessly


"i dont know what you've done.. but you didnt kill or hurt me.. and thats what matters seleni.." Flan replies


Hikaru blinks feeling like he had just been punched in the gut, he looks at Ari, steps forward to say something, but it gets stuck in his throat and is followed shortly by tears forming in his eyes, he looks at  Ari's back, and feels like he had been everscerated. suddenly even his own cold felt like it was overwhelming.

"You told me... That i was the last person you would call, you have said... that I'm basically just a friend you occasionally fuck, and you said that you once thought all of my feelings and words were just an attempt to sleep with you."

"Maybe I'd understand you more if you didn't always shut me out!"
(those are all things Ari has said in the past, mind you no context is provided, but yeah.)


“ yeah I said those things when I felt I had no one and nothing… And you do have to admit for a while there it did seem like all you wanted from me was sex but today you want to know my problem when I looked up at the night sky and saw the stars it reminded me of nights with him… In addition to that the only remaining link to my past self, my home and my time basically told me he doesn’t give a fuck about me…” she punches the wall “ if you and the girls really want to help me then make all these feelings go away...” she said honestly


Seleni turns away and after a few moments she speaks. "I killed countless innocents,  destroyed families, and ravaged worlds....and......I let my fiancée die......." She turns around, crying. " I don't deserve Hitomi, Sarah, or you...."


Hikaru stumbles towards Ari his balance was off put by the fact that he didn't exactly cry nicely, he sniffled and teared and cried and he didn't know what to say. He just grabbed Ari pushing her up against the wall holding her against him and then locking his lips to hers, trying his best to display all the passion that he held towards her, to translate his feelings more into actions. He clutched Ari his hands holding her even lifting her up off the ground like the 90lbs of nothing that she was. "You're always going to have me. I know I am connected to this time, and only this time, but... isn't that why they call it the present? so that you can treasure it and share it with others?"
